Speedy Replies Rating connecting to things I buy

My speedy replies rating is at 50% because I did not reply to a message from a seller that I bought from. This is totally bogus and really bothers me that I can’t buy without responding to thank you messages if it’s going to effect my rating.

Yes, that's how it is designed to work.

Etsy can't tell if messages are for your shop or from another one about an order.

Answer every message or put them in spam.

It isn't bogus, we have been told about a million times and in many ways that we have to respond to the first thread in EVERY MESSAGE as a buyer or seller. This has been addressed so many times I could not count them if I tried.

Etsy cannot tell if a message is from a buyer, a seller you bought from or a friend.
Do you really want Etsy reading all our messages???

The star seller rules have been clear for over 1 1/2 years now, it's posted on your dashboard, the help pages, etc and no telling how many threads on this every, single day.
All NEW messages must be replied to or marked as spam. 

Why not just message them back "You're welcome", a smiley face, easy peasy and then you wouldn't be dinged.
