I received a generic spam sales message from a seller I purchased from ages ago (long before I became a seller), & deleted it.
Now my Star Seller stats are skewed because of that. (I really don't get that many messages in the first place)
Is there a way to fix that?
Thanks
The criteria is very clear - respond to all messages or mark as spam.
you have to reply, or mark as spam,
That's it.
Hi, There is no way to fix that, sorry to say. Any time you receive a Message where you are not the Initiator, you must Respond or Mark as Spam. Just for future, this also includes Messages you may receive from a Seller whom you are friendly with ("How's it going," for example).
Hope this helps.

@SGSaberDesign: The Star Seller metric for messages is very simplistic and binary - either you replied to (or marked as SPAM) that first message of a new incoming thread within 24 hours or you did not.
If the Message is still in your trash try marking it as SPAM. Etsy has been making so many changes to Messages that this is not guaranteed to fix the situation, but it might. Just keep in mind that it may take several days for the stats to update if it does work.
