A possible buyer has reached out to us with a legitimate question and when we try to reply, we get this error message. They are not blocked. Their message is not in Spam. We've tried several different browsers, cleared cache, etc.
Obviously it's a glitch that needs to be addressed by Etsy.
How do we not get dinged for the message remaining UN replied to? Doesn't seem fair.
so it could be for a few reasons.
that person has been removed from Etsy. Maybe a scammer.
Maybe you've been sending out solicitation emails or spam to others. If you have, your ability to respond to messages is going to be removed.
those are the two most likely situations. Does either of these seem like the right one to you?
And yes, if the message is not replied, too, you are dinged. But you have over 6k sales, so likely this is something you already know. Lovely things, by the way.
Thanks for the reply. Neither suggestion seems likely.
1) Person is just asking a question about an item not spamming.
2) I have not sent a convo in a week, of any kind. I just reply to customer convos. And I'm just trying to reply to this one that I received today.
Thanks!
Did they close their account?
I don't think so.
so #1 doesn't mean that they haven't. Elsewhere.
so I'm back to wondering if that's the true answer. If you think, no, send Etsy a message. Could be a glitch.
and, while it may sound weird...reboot is also a viable answer. I had a few computer issues with my work computer the past few weeks. And the answer to fix has been 'well restart your computer'...and that from tech support.
so...maybe that?
I have reported this to Etsy. They say they are looking into it. We'll see.
Yes, of course, I cleared the cache, rebooted. It's doing it both on laptop and phone.
