So I've noticed some of my listing have prompted this error . I'm not sure what's going on and everything I've checked seems to add up. Is there a bug? I've reached out to Etsy support and hope I can get this fixed since I just became a star seller and so far I've noticed 6 listings prompting this error screen.
Anyone else going thru this ?

Hello there,
If you saw this message on your listings, it only means that your listing is not available for buyers in certain regions due to regional restrictions. However, your listing is still searchable and viewable to buyers in other regions.
Thank you very much!

Re: Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region.
This is a link from USDA APHIS - https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/ourfocus/planthealth/import-information/permits/plants-and-plant-pr...
It mentions that the page was last modified yesterday, August 1, 2022. So Etsy is reacting to a changes.

The same thing is happening to me. With doll hair. None of my competitors. Just me. And not all of my listings, just a few of them. I've talked with Etsy support and nothing is being done.

@ShimmerLocks Not sure why they'd deactivate the doll hair, but could it be because you've used brand names in the titles and tags - Barbie, My Little Pony, etc?

Re: Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region.
this is devastating... I was hoping to buy a new car but I invested that money to open up some plant shop... This is very sad.... I have a few imported plants arriving from USDA this week so I'm going to find out if their new policy that could affect us reselling imported plants. (They usually email me if theirs any problem) If Etsy bans us from selling plants I'm not sure where else to go, Ebay looks so outdated, and having your own website will generate almost no sales.

Re: Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region.
@ShimmerLocks Two things - the announcement you have on your shop's home page could be construed by Etsy as a violation of Terms of Service regarding fee avoidance, and since you are already on their radar ...
Secondly, if you have permission to use trademarks and / or copyrighted material you should state so in your listings. It probably will not keep your listing from being deactivated by a bot but it might make it easier to get it restored when reviewed.

Re: Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region.
Unjustified Restriction: Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region.
Hello,
This problem is affecting things that are not organic.
Two of my solar lights are not showing to US customers on my Etsy store. The products are:
1. Malibu Marker, Shade Solar Light
2. Aspen Floodlight, Shade Solar Light
I requested a callback from Etsy. The woman who called was very polite but said there is "system problem" or something like that. My solar lights got flagged as plants and seed, then restricted from sale in USA by US Fish & Wildlife request Etsy received. I have been trying for 6 days now to lift this restriction. No luck.
I did not receive a notice of policy violation from Etsy. I did not receive an Infringement Notification from Etsy.
This problem is harming my shop reputation. Sales, search traffic and conversion rate are down substantially.
The woman from Etsy said they have received many requests from sellers who have been unfairly targeted. She said that the team who lifts restrictions is overwhelmed. She gave no time frame for removing the restriction. But further probing revealed it could be weeks, months, or never.
Don't know What else to do?
Thanks,
Gary

Re: Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region.
Your store and items look really cool.
Why solar lights would get classified as plants or seed is really odd. Any chance that something in a listing is triggering something? Maybe a phrase in the description or a tag?
I hope you're able to get the restriction lifted.

Re: Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region.
Yes. It seems strange that Esty would confuse solar lights with seeds and soil. I read somewhere recently that many AI (bots) these days are about as smart as an earthworm. Knowing that, it's a little less strange.

Re: Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region.
@HatsbyEmmaandElla : It seems that the bots are looking for trigger words with no consideration for context. Just as an example that may or may not apply to you, if you say an item is ivory colored the listing may get flagged because ivory is not allowed to be sold on Etsy. It could be as simple as the fact that you use the word "flower". Since Etsy is now also factoring descriptions in search, they along with titles, tags. and materials are all probably being checked. And the bots are also "reading" images. Hopefully you have / will receive an eMail from Etsy explaining the reason.

Re: Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region.
Had another look at the item and the only thing I could see was possibly the feathers I had described as peacock swords.
Maybe one or both words?
There are loads of listings to buy peacock swords - feathers, so it just doesn't seem to make sense to me.
I have just deleted the item no point if it can't be seen by anyone.

Re: Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region.
@HatsbyEmmaandElla : Without getting into a discussion of what is fair or right or if your listing should be deactivated, the fact that you have been selling something for years only means that the bots have been updated. If there are other shops selling similar items it only means that they have not been caught yet.

Re: Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region.
A prospective buyer contacted me yesterday because she wanted to purchase a vintage tie pin and the "not available...) banner came up. We are both in the UK. I think it's because the tie pin is in the shape of a pirate's cutlass possibly. So I removed all references to cutlass, blade, sword etc (the description now makes little sense!) but she still couldn't buy it. When I clicked on it, I too got that message! After several attempts, deactivating, relisting, altering the delivery profile, I had to give up. The buyer was very pleasant about it, but clearly thought it was ridiculous. It has been listed quite a while, and relisted - so why this problem at the point of purchase?

Re: Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region.
They have de-activated that listing for people in regions where they think it would be illegal.
that listing is de-activated for sale to that region for good, whatever you do to it.
You can raise a ticket with etsy, to ask for a human to review it
Or you have to create a new listing, without any of the offending words
....
etsy only recently implemented this, because if the scathing TV programme around young people being able to buy knives from Etsy.
It is only at purchase, because people in other countries can buy them, it's only the UK that has the 18 verification requirement
