So this is super weird in my 14 years of having a shop.
My new shop just got it’s 3rd sale so I was so excited. I shipped the bag to the customer in the USA (I’m in Canada). Messaged the buyer saying her bag was in it ways etc. Sent her a picture of the package with her address on it etc.
Then 1 week later I was confused as I was being asked to review the bag and it was saying that I purchased it from my one shop??
I am now getting email messages from myself when I message the buyer.
Also I never got an email for the original purchase from Etsy to store to myself, so didn’t see any red flags then.
I messaged Etsy through chat and they found out the email used was definitely my email from my one shop. I said I didn’t purchase my own bag.
It was with a MasterCard that is not mine as that I don’t have an MasterCard and shipped to an unknown person with a real address (I don’t know anyone in the USA). Also the money has been deposited into my account.
Etsy said they would escalate this but I only got an email today saying it been solved?
I can’t cancel the order as then I’m out the bag and the money then.
I’m wondering if the MasterCard can be traced or what I can do? I’m worried about my shop and have turned the high security and changed my password to my shop.
If your card was charged, call your credit card company and dispute the charge.
My credit card wasn’t charged thankfully and bank stuff is okay. It’s was someone else credit card and I have no access to it.
That sounds llike a glitch with Etsy. I would contact them via email or tell chat you need a specialist to find out why this is happening. Tell thme specifically what is happening and if you have any backup data give them that. Chat is not really going to help here. Tell them it is a technical issue with either the payment processor or some other technical problem that is happening.
The only other thing I could think of is if your identity has been stolen and someone opened a Master Card in your name. You may want to research that,
Okay thank you. Must be a glitch for sure! The customer has a different name and address than me. When I sent the original shipping notification, her email was on that (just found it). So I just sent her an email asking if she received the bag etc. So waiting to here back .
