Someone is trying to hack my account - No response from etsy

Jump to solution

Another etsy user is trying to hack my account, this has happened in the past so I researched how they did it to better protect my self in the future.

I have tried to contact etsy about this, but the is no clear way to raise such security concerns which seems very strange / lacking on the side of etsy protecting sellers.

I have sent an email about it, but just received a generic response back, which shows that no one actually read my original email raising these concerns, which again is very worrying, why aren't etsy more interested in preventing hackers targeting sellers?

How do you know that is happening? And, why do you think it's another Etsy user?

To get help from Etsy you must reply to that generic email saying "I STILL NEED HELP".  They will then forward the problem to "experts".

Good luck.

@LedonGifts   Too much of this going on.  And you're right, it appears whoever "read" you email didn't comprehend what you were saying.  I agree; there appears to be security concerns for a while now.  I don't know if you are seeing someone trying to sign in under "Security" in your Shop Manager, but time to knock them out.
There is an Admin (HerrMoostache) who has popped into Threads where the OP has had their Account Hacked.  If you want, it may be a good idea to "at" him in this Thread.  Get the ball rolling.

I hope this helps in some way.

ETA:  Just wanted to add, if you are being Hacked, contact the authorities.  This is a cyber crime.

For those that asked, the way the scam / hack works is the etsy user sends a message with links to several item from your shop, most of the links will take you direct to your items, but one will go to what looks like the main etsy home page and it will ask you to log back in, if you do this the hacker will then have your password details.
