Someone else's video on my listing

Someone purchased a listing of mine and I went into the order and noticed there was a video uploaded and replaced my video I had of a locket.  The video was someone else's video of a basket they were selling.  I have never seen the video before.  It makes me nervous that someone had access to my account to add a video.  Has anyone else had this happen.  I noticed an older post from 2024 that it happened, but nothing recent.

That has happened to other sellers. Just delete it

yes, I did delete it.  It is really strange because the original video was put on there months ago and then only recently was it replaced out.

This same thing has happened to many other sellers since etsy allowed videos in listings. It seems to be a problem with etsy and not that someone has been in your account or has access to your listings and store. 

If you want to google the topic you'll find many threads and that might have more info if you are curious about why it happens.

@AliandShayDesigns: "... that someone had access to my account ..." If you look at your listing in <Edit> mode and your video is still there you are okay from that standpoint.

This came up just the other day again with another seller. Deleting the video & reuploading works for some sellers. But for others, they found that renaming the video did the trick. Perhaps there is a conflict if multiple users upload a video with the same generic name? All of my video names are unique, so I haven't seen this issue (yet).

fyi, if you are ever worried about your account, you can check your account security settings to see who all has access, then you can sign out any unknown users/locations.  That's not what caused this issue though. It's a known Etsy glitch.

I give all my videos weird and uniquely complex names just for this reason, after I heard of this happening last year.  If Etsy shows a basket video instead of my quilt block, well, that’s annoying but not so bad.  But there are certainly other videos here I wouldn’t want cross-mixed with my listings LOL.

In a post from last year, another seller had a video for an "adult" item show up on their product. Some of Etsy's "glitches" are scarier than others!!

This sounds like a pretty scary glitch. Even if one of my videos was replaced with a perfectly respectable video ... it creates serious brand confusion.

I really don't want to check all my videos ... but I guess I'll get started.

Yes, that was what I was worried about too. I have a lot of videos that I didn't give a name to, so I feel like I should go into each to make sure.  I am glad it was just a basket video, but is definitely confusing for the buyer.
