Sold item but no order no payment

Not sure what to do here. I sold an item a few days ago, had a message pop up on my screen and got the chi - Ching. The item is showing in my sold section but no order and no payment. The item has disappeared from my inventory just like it normally does if I sell something.

I suspect it's maybe processing but I have received no messages saying an order is processing. Can't exactly relist it if someone has indeed bought it. 

Has similar issues before but they are usually just very temporary, this got "sold" almost 3 days ago, the client is probably wondering why it's not being shipped

Check on web version to see if the listing says pending?  You shouldn't be able to create a label if it is pending.

It's one reason I don't trust the app.  I'm a check the web version kind of gal.

As mentioned above, the web version should show you if a payment is still processing.

Also if you haven't already, check your emails. They usually send an email to notify of an order that's processing.

Thanks for the advice, no emails, and nothing processing on mobile or desktop in my Etsy store. I searched for the item on both desktop and cellphone and it's showing in my sold items, but that's the only indication I have that it's sold. I suppose Etsy would like me to pay to relist it again...

@PurityGems - That's peculiar. Contact Etsy Support then and ask them to look into it.

https://www.etsy.com/help/contact - Choose from the options the things that are the closest match to your enquiry until you see a grey "I still need help" button at the bottom of the page. Click on that to access live chat, email and/or phone call options.

same thing happened with me . cant  find  2 orders . both buyers sent me screenshots with oder# but i cant find it ANYWHERE .

@PurityGems   There are a number of threads on this forum about issues with the apps.  The consensus seems to be to manage orders (and messages) via a browser not the app. Desktop browsers seem to have less issues than mobile browsers.

Yes I'll have to contact Etsy I suppose, I have tried with desktop and nothing is showing on orders. So many glitches lately, by the time you finish with one issue it's time to contact them again.

oh I guess I can't contact Etsy. The help page is down again like normal, and the links on the forum that used to link to a callback feature no longer work either. I guess I have no Etsy support and will have to wait for the angry message from my client, and then tell them I can't do anything LOL

Not even an email to contact them anymore, this is ridiculous. How am I supposed to sell when the platform doesn't work and there's nobody to help?

@PurityGems  :  What does your 'Orders And Shipping' page show? That should be the definitive source of truth. Have you checked the 'New' and 'Completed' (in case Etsy cancelled the order) tabs?

@PurityGems Your ability to access Support may depend on the time of day in your Country. I am in Australia and 30 seconds ago I confirmed I could access "Chat with us" and "Have us call you"

Community and help > Contact us  > Selling on Etsy > Finances and Billing > Deposits or fees > I still need Help

yes nothing in orders, but the item has disappeared from my inventory. I think I know who bought it as well, they bought a similar item shortly before this, and thier first item shows in orders but not this one. I emailed the client to see if they purchased it, but it's not very professional makes Etsy and myself look very unorganized

oh I got the help page working for a second. I'm not sure how I accomplished it since the help page rarely works. I emailed them very quickly before it went down again

Lol I have to email them about a separate issue but it's already down again. It's like winning a contest if the help section works.

There has been so many technical issues lately I'm starting to believe the people saying it's Etsy why sales are down for lots of people

@PurityGems - I've never experienced the help page to be down but I do see some people on the forums comment that it's always or often down for them.

If you want to try and get to the bottom of that, and if you know a little about technology, what browser do you use? 

Is your browser's security levels set very high? Does it block cookies or scripts?

Do you have extensions installed in your browser such as an AdBlocker?

Do you use a VPN? 

Do you have virus protection on your computer/device? 

It seems like there's something that causes some people to experience that problem while the majority of people can access help without an issue.

It's strange because it's almost always down for me, no matter on my phone of I use chrome or Samsung browser , and on my laptop it doesn't seem to matter if I'm using chrome or IE.

Like for example on my phone nothing changed but it let me use it for a few seconds, just long enough to compose an email. If something really was blocking it, I would suspect it would not work intermittently.

I've had enough technical issues to know its almost always Etsy. A few weeks ago I had an issue with my drop down menu not working in my shop.

Etsy swore up and down there was nothing wrong and I had to delete my cache or something. They also suggested I use another browser but I used 5 different ones to no avail. They said it was definitely an issue on my end. Today weeks later they emailed me to say they found the issue and fixed it...

OMG Etsy support is getting worse and worse. They responded to me but said it wasn't the right help topic so they wouldn't help me. 

There is only a few reasons you can contact them, and they make you list the reason, and my reason is not on the list 

The closest one I could find was dispute with an order. 

I just tried opening a new one with the Etsy removed my listings, but they made me choose between 2 reasons one was intellectual property and the other was policy violations. Neither of these are related to my issue either, but I tried to open a ticket, but I have a feeling they won't help me with this either because it's not on the specified topic... 

I feel totally abandoned by Etsy, the lack of support is very frustrating. I give Etsy a lot of money and it would be nice if they could just listen to me and try to address a concern.

I had something simular many months ago. A customer told me she was in the middle of purchasing an item in my shop but the listing changed to sold out. Neither of us had an order for the item in our records but it had moved from active to sold out in listings manager.

I contacted Etsy through chat, they could not find any order and then told me I could renew the listing.  I pointed out that there had been 2.5 months left on it, so they gave me 10 free listing credits.

Sorry but I dont remember how exactly I navigated support, but it was not any of choices you mentioned, since by my thought processes there was no order, and my listing wasnt removed.

@PurityGems Just now I went to the help centre, clicked to read the full section on listings, at the bottom I clicked on "still have questions contact support"

Picked Selling on Etsy, then picked "Managing my shop and listings", then picked "manage listings"

Then I picked "I still need help"

And the Get Help Chat with us page came up, said there was a 13 minute waiting time. I assume clicking that will get you in the que, I did not click it since I dont need help.

Like what @VogueVixens says, try not selecting any issue on the Etsy Help page. Scroll ALL the way down to the button that says "Contact Etsy support" and go from there selecting "I still need help". If that's what you've been doing all along, then I don't know what else you can do.

Does the sale show up on your financial page? Was the item just deactivated by Etsy due to how it was described? Ivory, amber, or a whole slew of nono words?

If I try to use the contact Etsy support without selecting an issue it doesn't work, it forces me to select an issue from the very short pre determined list. 

I was able to get through to Etsy on the phone using the callback link, which is nice because they don't have a short little list of topics they are willing to talk about 

The problem is that this link doesn't always work, and you have to search for the link on the forums, it's the only way I know how to find it. Etsy doesn't make this info available, it's almost like a secret. If you try to save the phone number that calls you that doesn't work the number says that it is no longer functioning every time you call, even if you call them right back. 

I always feel like I'm doing something sneaky and underhanded when I call Etsy support... because it's very clear that's not what Etsy wants me to do, they hide the link and then make it so the link only works sometimes 

Anyways they told me that someone bought it and the payment didn't go through and the order was cancelled. They apologized for sending me no notification at all and could see why I was confused.

I certainly didn't want to relist it if someone had purchased it. They gave me the credit for the listing, but since there was no order attached I couldn't just simply relist it, I had to make a whole new listing again, fill out all the attributes and tags. Nice

@PurityGems  :  Doesn't the listing show up anywhere on your Listings Page in shop manager? Active, Sold Out, Inactive?
