Hi,
I'm trying to get my shop going again after a long hiatus. During the downtime, my bank account was closed. I have been trying to add a new bank account but there is no way to do this. I've looked in the forums with others having the same issue. Help articles mention unlinking the old account but I can seem to find that option. It just wants me to verify the old bank account first. But the only way to do that is to log into it with Plaid but since the account is closed, that obviously doesn't work. Plus the account was already verified to begin with.
I am also trying to update my email address. I go through the steps and it sends a verification email to the old address... except I never get the message. I check spam etc. It just never comes. The address works just fine. I even got a confirmation email from the Etsy help ticket I put in. But just nothing from the verification side.
I've sent messages to Esty about both of these issues. It says 1-2 days but it has been longer than that and still nothing. All of this is making rethink whether I should even bother coming back to Etsy at all.
@PennyJackGoods When you try to update your bank account, I assume you are using the "update" link. The account they want you to verify is the NEW account, not the old one. You should be entering the routing number and account number for the new account you are trying to add.
Sending multiple email message to Etsy is counterproductive. Each message you send puts you to the end of the queue. I don't know if this will work for you, but it's a link that may enable you to request a callback. It doesn't work for everyone, but does work for some people.
Etsy support are the only ones who can unlink your old bank account.
I'm so sorry to hear this. Etsy generally takes several days to respond to emails. Since this past week did contain a holiday (Easter) it's possible some staff has taken time off so responses are slower? I don't believe Etsy's staff works on the weekends either. So keep that in mind when awaiting responses. Hopefully this is cleared up for you soon.

Thank you. I'll try the callback. I'll also go look at the update link and make sure I'm putting in the new info.
I haven't sent separate emails to Etsy about this one issue but rather just responded in the thread of the same ticket.
The callback link is great to have on hand as well. Thank you!
Following, I'm thinking about coming back too and will be in a similar situation.
Use one message to correspond with Etsy. You may need to restate the issue for them to fully understand the problem since they deal with many different aspects of various financial topics.
Etsy needs the old account to make sure this is you. You probably need to ask them to remove the information so you can verify the new account through Plaid. I used the instant method which is quick, easy and safe.
For email, if you don't have the old you need to contact Etsy. How to Change the Email Address on Your Etsy Account – Etsy Help
Thanks. I keep responding to the same thread. I had a separate issue with my email in a different ticket and that was resolved quickly. That person said they would make sure to get my other ticket address but still nothing. I'll just be patient for now but I put my ticket in last week. It just seems like it has been quite a while.
