Click the 3 vertical dots in right area > Settings > Search engine > Manage search engines & site search> scroll down to "Inactive shortcuts" (find Etsy.com) click "Activate" next to it. This should remove the red error banner when you sign in.
I have had this problem before, where for example the Captcha "pick a photo with a stop sign", just keeps adding more and more photos, and never accepts that "I am a human".
Unfortunately I don't know how to fix it except that to avoid having this log in issue, I stay logged into my Etsy accounts, I try to never log out. Having Etsy cookies on my device, means I rarely have "captcha" pop up.
Thank you!
I did that for years on iPad now it logs me out all the time, so far I can log in fine w/o captcha, but still a pain when I want to talk ha.
I just had the same problem, and the photos are really too small to work on some of them! This is ridiculous! They must have put me through at least 20 photos!
I don't usually have to deal with Captcha, but for about a week a few months ago it was showing up with every log in and would just go in circles. So I learned early on that once the Captcha appeared to just open a new window, X out of the first one and log in again. I didn't have to deal with finding any %&@!!& motorcycles, crosswalks, taxis, etc. with the new window.
Thank you
This has been an issue for my shop, constantly clicking on the fuzzy images for ten to twenty minutes. It is so frustrating.
I will try your method in the future.
Thank you for sharing.
I use the same desktop computer, Chrome, Windows 10 for everything. Every day when I Sign In, I would receive the red Error Banner, do a Refresh and I would be in. Didn't have the Captcha for a long time until recently, a couple days ago, back to back. I had to go through about 10 pgs. of photos. I did not have the Captcha today or yesterday.
I clear cache and cookies once a day, sometimes twice.
I had that issue on Chrome but not Explorer. I still get the red error banner on almost every sign in. I just hit refresh and it opens. It has been going on for MONTHS and it it Etsy's issue and it is not right.
I've been refreshing that error banner for 13 months now, on both Edge and Chrome.
Thank you
@JaniceMarieArt I think it's a third-party setting on your computer that you have to uncheck.
Thanks so much
I've had the same issues. It is really annoying. The photos are fuzzy, and I have to go through 6 or 8 screens before it finally decides that I am, in fact, a human. What happened to the old "send me a text message with a secret number" to log in?
@ChillwolfArt Are you still getting the red banner at sign-in with Chrome? If so, here's what I did:
Click the 3 vertical dots in right area > Settings > Search engine > Manage search engines & site search> scroll down to "Inactive shortcuts" (find Etsy.com) click "Activate" next to it. This should remove the red banner when you sign in. Let me know if it works for you.
@SugarTaffySoap Yes, I am still getting the red Error Banner upon Sign In. Thank You, I will try your suggestion and come back to let you know.
@SugarTaffySoap I just did the above steps; cleared cache cookies and Signed back In. Still getting the red error banner for some stupid reason.
@ChillwolfArt Sorry it didn't work for you. I have etsy as a shortcut. As soon as I activated I was able to sign in with no problem.
@SugarTaffySoap Thank You all the same. It was definitely worth a try.

What about Firefox? I can't see "Search Engine" in their settings.
