Hello! So I am a new seller who opened a shop 3 days ago, and today I received a message from "Etsy" saying that my shop was marked as suspicious and that I need to verify that I am the seller of the contents in my shop via the steps sent to my email, or else my account will be deactivated. This being my first time receiving something like this, I provided my email and when I did this I got a little green notification at the top of my screen commending how fast I replied to the message and that replying back quickly is a good sign for shops, which made me think even more that this was legit (this is my first ever message so maybe that had something to do with it), and when I was sent the steps via a link in my email I clicked on it.
However, Google never properly opened the link when I tried to do it twice, so I went back to messages and discovered that the message's sender has 0 followers, is following 0 people, and their name is "Ètsy", this is when I realized that it was most likely a scam so I marked both messages as spam via my email and on Etsy and I blocked them. I did some research and saw comments about others clicking the link and being sent to an Etsy login look-alike page, I never got to that point due to the invalid link but I still changed my Etsy account password and the password to my bank account for extra measure. Should I Take Extra Steps? I saw some advice on other posts about calling your bank company and reporting fraud or canceling your card, This is all brand new to me and I would just like to know If I have anything to be worried about! Thank You So Much!
Also: Before I blocked them, they resent the email with the link attached to it 3 more times after my first failed attempts, so this also makes me think that I didn't get far enough for them to have my personal information.
Don't engage with them further; this is a SCAM! It's been running rampant here, and I'm very sorry you've been targeted as a new Seller (Scammers have been hitting new Sellers as well as seasoned ones). They want to get your banking information so they can steal from you. Since you didn't give them that, I still would run a virus check on your device to be on the safe side.
If it did not come in the From Etsy Folder, it's a scam. Be sure to Mark the Message as Spam, so you don't get dinged for Star Seller. Also, I don't use the Seller App, but if you do, there is no way to Mark a Message as Spam in the App (ridiculous, I know). You would have to use a browser (or the Buyer App, I believe).
Here is the Announcement about the From Etsy Folder (currently it is in past Announcements. Really should be pinned).

Here is the other Etsy Announcement re: Scams (again, it is in past Announcements).

I hope this helps you. This garbage has got to ease up.
There is no way to block them. The block you are seeing blocks them from following you, they can still see your shop and send you messages.
You said they had no one following them and they weren’t following anyone. I’m not sure what that has to do with anything but you also have no followers and no one is following you.

I know that I have no followers and I'm also following no one, but I said that because they claimed themselves to be an official "Etsy" account, so I only assumed that if it was legit they would have a substantial following and would also be following people.
