I used to be able to see if any of my listings were in a customer's shopping cart. I haven't seen that info for quite awhile. I assumed nothing was going into carts. But I recently had a sale that did not show any shopping cart status until it sold. In checking my sold listings there was a notation in red under the listing title reading "4 people have this in their cart". I never saw that info before it sold! Why can't I see the status of my listings that may be in a customer's shopping cart any more? I searched for any info on this topic to no avail. Can anyone help with this query? Thanks!
Most of the time, that notification that an item is in a shopping cart is pretty unreliable
Also, it is possible that the purchase was done immediately after finding it in search or visiting a link that was shared somewhere on social media or elsewhere on the internet
It doesn’t show when you are running a sale.
If you have items on sale, you can view them incognito to see if it says that any are in carts. Otherwise, as said above, it doesn't show.
You won't have the shopping cart banner under each item when you're running a sale. Etsy allows room for one thing only.
@CiniCrafts4u: The 'x people have this in their cart' message is intended as a nudge for buyers, not information for sellers. There is no information from Etsy on how current, accurate, or inclusive this information is. We know for a fact that people can have an item in their cart and it does not show up on the listing.
Etsy has limited space for messages like this below listing previews, so they prioritise the messages that apply. Cart reminders are less impoertant than sale pricing to buyers, so if you have a sale or offer running that will take precedence.
