Maybe Etsy is checking to make sure you are not selling counterfeit items.
Not at all, this was tied to a request for updating paperwork, something they already had, but wanted again, I resubmitted and they auto vacation mode until they can "verify" the docs, docs they have had for 5 years.
governments want platforms to collect a lot more info about sellers, and report to them what sellers make
when you put in the info, everything has to match, so make sure your name is correct everywhere, and matches the ID, and whats registered on the tax id
Tax ID isn't the problem, it's the Business Registration docs that they're confused on. And there's no way to chat or accelerate customer service, they just did the auto vacation mode thing without warning. *sighs* Incredibly frustrating Etsy!
