Shop forced on Vacation Mode - Taxpayer ID & Eternal loop

I have uploaded all the documentation that Etsy has asked me by mail and I keep getting emails saying that they have not been able to verify the information and that my shop has been put in Vacation Mode. Doing this to me with the kind of products I sell, a month and a half before Halloween, is a big problem.

I wrote to the support through the Etsy supp chat for best-sellers and nobody answered me in almost 1 hour.

If there is no solution soon, I will close it myself, but eternally. I was on the verge of surpassing 10,000 sales.

I was asked to do this and it was fairly straight forward. Do you have an accountant? Give him or her all the info they ask for and they should be able to put it together or give you the steps. If you do not, maybe you have a friend who specializes in this sort of thing.

My tax and financial advisors helped me fill in the fields.

For some reason since I created the shop on Etsy, in 2018, in the business owner (full name) field was the legal name of the company, instead of my personal name.

When I changed that in the new forms yesterday, it tells me that “vacation mode has been activated while documents are being verified”.

How is it possible for the platform to do something like this and leave you without the possibility to sell while they check the documentation? I'm sure this has - if they are slow to check it - a negative impact on listing rankings.

Putting a shop in vacation mode is very harmful, no matter the cause or the reason.

What surprises me is that, being such a large company, they do not have a team in charge of resolving these issues quickly.

En ese aspecto Etsy es un desastre. Tu en Madrid y yo en Canarias.... mucho peor porque not tenemos ''VAT NUMBER'' Estoy preparando la documentacion, a ver si tengo suerte.

Es que es una locura... Trabajo desde hace años en una agencia de marketing y colaboramos de forma directa con diversas redes sociales, y su soporte es muy rápido y eficiente. Me sorprende cómo Etsy, siendo un gigante americano del ecommerce, flaquee en estos temas. Para unos temas han avanzado mucho a mejor, pero para otros se han quedado atrás. Es para hacérselo mirar.

Does anyone on the Etsy team read these forums, or is it just for us to communicate between sellers?

Hi, the same situation happened to us yesterday. We tried to fill in the phone number and our shop is now on forced holiday mode. We have been waiting for an answer from support for 17 hours. It is frustrating for a seller not to get instructions on resolving the situation.

The platform's capacity and response times leave much to be desired.

I recommend you customize the message of the "Vacation Mode," and if you have another website where you offer your products, make it clear at the beginning of the message.

If they take a few more days to respond, I will change the links on all our Pinterest and YouTube posts, leaving only the ones to our website instead of the Etsy ones.

There is no point in sending traffic to a platform where potential customers can't buy from you.

In 6 years, I have never felt this way, as if my Etsy shop doesn't really belong to me.
