Shop cant be found

I have been told by a few individuals that when they look up my shop, they can't find it. I also have tried and all kinds of other items come up. I've paid my fees and I have been adding my products the last week or so. I don't understand why it can't be found. They search it in etsy, so have I, and there is nothing. I have had a shop before and had no problem finding my own shop, neither did others.

I just did an Etsy search for your shop and it came right up.

Not everyone is finding my shop for some reason.

@GypsysVibePaintings
Is it possible they are spelling it wrong, or missing the last s in Gypsys?

Re: Shop cant be found

Your shop is indexed (I checked). You can add "Gypsy Vibe" to your tags and that will bring all your listings up too.

Re: Shop cant be found

I did as you suggested. I tagged my paintings with my shop name. I found a way to tag all my listing at once. Thank you so much!

Re: Shop cant be found

I'm not sure what indexed means. Is there another way to fix that instead of going back into all my posts to add tags. I had no problem the first time I opened my shop.

Re: Shop cant be found

The indexing I believe means that Google has found your webpages (etsy store pages), so they can be available as search results. This is an important step to your shop being found when searched for by name.

Separately from that, for the products to be found when your shop name is searched, you needed to  add your store name to the tags.

@GrandIslandRoots

Google indexing and Etsy indexing are two different things. Etsy usually indexes new products within a few minutes in your store to a few hours in the Etsy search engine. It will take some time for your indexing to find its permanent place and settle, maybe a month or more. Over 200 factors will determine if it rises or falls in rank.

Google indexes depending on how often you work on your store. A new seller may take a month or more to show up in Google search.

If you work on your store every day, the Google bot will come look for your pages more often.

If you post a handful of products and then stop working on your store, they might not come back for months.

If you do something on your store every day, they will start coming faster and faster, until eventually you might get listed in Google in an hour. Like Etsy, it will take some time for your listing to settle into its permanent place.

@GypsysVibePaintings

if you don't have it in tags, it will find your shop,

if you put it in tags, it won't find your shop, just the listings you put it in

maybe the people looking are putting in spaces, or spelling "gypsies" or just "Gypsy"

Re: Shop cant be found

Although I have never been a high volume seller, I haven’t had any sales lately, and am trying to find ways to improve my visibility. When I search “valentine pillows”, I can’t even find my shop after many pages of searching. What is meant by adding a store name to the tags? My store is “lloBelleDesign”, should I add this to all my items in the tag section? How can I find out if my shop is indexed? Thank you very much in advance for any ideas!

Re: Shop cant be found

@lloBelleDesign

You are repeating words in your titles, which lowers your ranking.

You are not using the keyword phrases in your title in the first sentences in your description, which now helps your page to get found.

You only have 4 tags on your valentine pillow. Two of  them are single words, and one of them is Rectangle, which does not apply to a heart shaped pillow. When people search rectangle and find your pillow is not a rectangle. They hit their back button, and your ranking slips a little. When a lot of people have done this, it sinks so far it cannot be found. None of your tags contain the word pillow or Valentines Pillow, so you are not showing up in the search engine for the terms that describe WHAT you are selling.

Etsy lists the top 15,600 results. If you are ranking below that, you won't be found. Also, most people will only look at the first 1 to 3 pages, then if they don't find what they are looking for, they will try a different search. Only people who already know your store name will search by your store name. I never waste a tag with my store name. I would rather get another keyword phrase in there that describes that particular product.

Tags and titles are the two most important things that get you found in the Etsy search engine.

Read the Etsy Seller Handbook articles (linked to at top of this page) on how Search works.

Use all 13 tags you are allowed, and make them unique for every product. Tags should contain 2 or 3 words. They should never be a single word. If you use the same few tags on all your products,  you will only be found for a few keyword phrases.

If you search for your store name, a dropdown will ask you if you want to look for stores that contain your shop name, and that should go right to it if you are indexed. You've had some sales, so you must be indexed,

But just being indexed does not guarantee you will show up for a particular search phrase, depending on how your SEO is ranking. "Valentine's Day Pillow" has 31,808 results, but you will have to rank at least 15, 600 to be shown on Page 250 of the results, which hardly anyone will go to. 250 pages is the maximum that will show for any search phrase. To get on the pages near the beginning of the search, you will probably have to rank in the top 200 results. I'm not sure, but I think each page shows about 40 or 50 results.

If you follow the recommended search practices Etsy recommends, you will likely rank above 90% of your competitors.

Re: Shop cant be found

@GypsysVibePaintings   I also checked and found that you are indexed.  You do have 15 sales so of course you are being found.  Your work is beautiful but your titles and probably tags need a lot of work,which could be why you aren’t being seen as much as you would like.  Lots of competition here for almost everything.

Re: Shop cant be found

I've heard someone mentioned this index before but I do not know what that means. No one has explained that to me. Those 15 sales were from the last time I had my shop open. This time, i am being informed that I can't be found. I do not expect immediate sales, if any. What I was concerned about was why I can't be found in the etsy search. When I had my shop open last time, no one had issues finding me. I did tag all my posts with my shop name this time. I did not need to do that before. So what does this "indexed" mean? How can I change that?

Re: Shop cant be found

@GypsysVibePaintings

your listings and shop ARE indexed, it means they can be found in search.

where they rank in search, is down to your seo, and shop quality score

your seo is very poor, you need to use categories, and all 13 tags with multiple words, and headings which say what it is, and descriptions,

and your quality is low, you have no about section, or return policies, even if you want "no returns" you have to select that

you may want to ask for a shop critique

Re: Shop cant be found

All this is to confusing. May not have my shop long. Not to mention I can't even change my shop photos to update my appearance. It doesn't matter anymore.

Re: Shop cant be found

I love your paintings! Running the shop can be a drag for those interested more in the art than the business. I love to help people! Would it make a difference if we talked through it together?
