Anyone having problems in opening up Shop Manager? I get this notification:
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.
It did get resolved a couple of hours ago, but re-appeared again.
@RenaissanceFair: Are you experiencing this using an Etsy app (on which operating system) or via mobile browser or desktop browser (which browser and operating system)?
The "Size of a request header field exceeds server limit" is often caused by too many cookies being sent (and Etsy places lots of cookies). If that is the cause, it may come and go as cookies expire or are deleted.
I'm still having this problem and using a PC desktop. I'll look into the cookies, but it never happened before. Without Shop Manager, you're dead in the water.
I'm using my desktop. Just cleared by Chrome browsing data and problem still exists.
Thats a miscommunication between your ISP server and Etsy. I had one earlier in the forums.
Sometimes a clean out of cache is needed.
This keeps happening to me too on every browser. Vastly annoying.
as I said on another related post the workaround is: instead of clicking on the shop manager when the 404 error appears, I click back and on messages - even if I have none - this allows me to get into the shop's dashboard. Again, it's merely a workaround and not a solution - the problem needs to be addressed - it appears that the site is generating too many cookies for the browsers to handle (most likely reason).
When I hear of a handful of issues like this, I check DownDetector to see if there's any malarkey -

* I just Google "Is Etsy down" and get this as the first result.
