Not sure what happened to the "report glitches" page, so here goes.. I put a book online as usual and the Etsy-calculated shipping total shows up as: Cost to ship: $6.68. The book weighs 5 lbs, 1 oz., which is $7.83 total via Media Mail. What happened, and how do I fix it? I'm not paying an extra $1.15 for no reason.
Your newest book listings shows $7.83 to ship.
No, it shows as $6.68 on the customer view page here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1691882562. I figured out what's going on, though. Priority Mail has new pricing now that is sometimes lower than Media Mail, so it chose Priority. I've never seen Priority lower than Media, so it took a while to figure that out.
@LaPointesBooks I checked again and it still shows $7.83 to ship to me in AZ. You do know it's based on the buyer's zip code.
Not Media Mail. That's a flat rate by weight. I've been shipping books that way since 1993. Hardly anyone ever chooses Priority because it's always more. But (as of January?) now it sometimes isn't.
@LaPointesBooks: Etsy calculated shipping always try to use the lowest cost available option. Doesn't your order show how Etsy calculated and which mail class / packaging they used for the calculation? We're always happy to see Priority Mail as the calculation - free shipping materials, if nothing else.
