Shipping on time

Etsy locked my account on a Friday for security concerns.   I had not logged in from a different IP or computer.   I had a customer purchase an item on Friday also.   My account was not unlocked until the following Tuesday although I responded immediately to the requests for information to unlock.   The order received on Friday was shipped 1 day late because my account was locked.  It was shipped immediately following unlocking my account.   Because the order was shipped a day late I am not in the 95% of shipping on time so Star Seller is not met for this month.  This does not seem fair or reasonable given Etsy locked my account over a weekend and did not unlock until one business day following.   Any suggestions on how to get Etsy to adjust the shipping given their security concerns were the cause of the late shipment?

I do understand the 95% qualification.  Unfortunately the one late shipment put my shipping stats at 92%.  Etsy did not acknowledge the American 4th of July holiday as a non shipping date so the sales made over the weekend are also noted, incorrectly, as shipping late.   Thank you for taking time to respond!  Best wishes-

You took the time to respond so please know you do not seem unsensitive.   I also thought the Star Seller had no impact, however, in the past month I have had more sales than the previous few months.  I thought traffic was previously driven by new and renewed listings, however, I had been busy with family health issues and had not posted any new listings or renewed any.  

Of course Etsy has added to the issue by not acknowledging the American 4th of July holiday as a non shipping day.

I really do not think your increased sales had anything to do with Star seller. My June sales were exceptionally good - my income was higher than last year even though i was closed for first 10 days of June. July has now been very, very slow. And as I never had, and never will have the star, it has nothing to do with that. Please do not stress yourself about the Star. So many sellers have it and lose it and then have it again and they notice no difference in sales.

Keep working on great customer service - yes, but for customers, not the for purple blob.:-)

Also, for the future - Etsy never takes any holiday into consideration. It's a worldwide marketplace so there is probably some holiday somewhere in the world almost every day. 

I have a note in my callendar - before every public holiday in the UK (where I am) to extand my shipping times.

The purple blob is like a carrot that I cannot seem to resist jumping for.  Great advice to extend the shipping/processing times.   Thank you again!

Etsy never recognizes holidays so that is up to you to make arrangements.  You have been on Etsy long enough to know that and on long enough to know the glitchy unreasonable things that can happen on Etsy.  

As to the closure was it for a good reason or an error on Etsy's part?  IF an error, contact them and explain that you were unfairly closed and this caused an issue.  IF Etsy had reason to close then.......  You say security?  When you were able to get back in did you check the security page to see if someone did try to enter your shop?   

As for the star seller, Etsy seems not to be changing any errors for others so they may not for you either.  They have been pretty firm on not changing errors.  The few I've heard of being corrected have been few and far between. 

The months will pass.
