Shipping on time effected by using Etsy labels for scheduled monthly shipments

Jump to solution

I sell a subscription box that ships once a month and even though I am shipping on time once a month, the following months after the first shipment is counting me as a late shipment because I’m sending “another shipment” on the order with Etsy shipping labels. This is a big seller for me so I never hit the star seller because of this. I’m not sure if this can be addressed somehow🤷‍

The only way around that is to buy the second and subsequent labels somewhere else then send the buyer an email

I didn't know subscription boxes were Etsy legal so perhaps they wouldn't cater for that.

Just message the tracking link instead of adding additional tracking to the order? Get the label off Etsy so it's not affecting the order?

I don't think Etsy is set up for subscriptions so you have to deal with the repercussions of working around the system (and may be considered a service which technically isn't allowed). Are you using the same order to continuously purchase labels? Etsy expects you to deliver by the date you set in shipping profiles, so by adding additional packages after that date it tells Etsy you didn't completely fulfill their order as you sent part of it late (Etsy tracking doesn't know your dealings with buyers, it just knows dates you ship to customers and it's those dates are late).

Lower your price a couple bucks and set up two private listings for your customer (explained in the listing) for one dollar each, one set with 5 weeks processing and one with 10 weeks giving you plenty of time to send all on time for 3 months with separate labels. 10 weeks I believe is the longest so I would limit subscriptions to 3 month periods or deal with more issues.

@SouthernFleekBath: "the following months after the first shipment is counting me as a late shipment because I’m sending “another shipment” on the order with Etsy shipping labels." Because to Etsy you shipped the order "incomplete" on time and the subsequent shipments are all after the scheduled ship by date - therefore late.
