I sell digital products and set up shipping as digital and it states that the buyer will download uploaded files immediately after purchase..  a buyer questioned why they are required to put their shipping information if its a digital product.  I believe I have set it up correctly, but don't know how to answer their question.   I assume that with the above message being displayed under shipping that I have set it up correctly - please let me know if I am wrong.  

For those selling digital products could you please enlighten me so that I can know and answer

Because Etsy asks the same information when going through checkout regardless of whether the product is physical or digital.

You add to cart, continue to payment, it asks for the address, you select a card/type in card details, confirm everything on the page, and then complete process.

Hello there!

if it is a digital product available for instant download, you have to select digital product instead of physical product in the type section

Digital product mean literally a digital file like. PDF, PNG JPG, SVG made to be print or to be use digitally 

Are you selling a digital product or do you mean you are selling something that has been made digitally but is already print

Fun fact: Etsy also asks buyers to rate shipping of digital products. So when they give you a 1 star review for shipping (because why would they give you 5 stars when nothing was actually shipped) it affects your overall rating. Nice huh

@TheSouthernPalms: Your shop's twelve month average rating and your three month Star Seller average use only the overall star rating and are not affected by the 'sub reviews' yet, as they can only be left by some buyers who use the Buy on Etsy app for iOS.
