Just found a big tech problem with shipping deadlines. We had an order just after midnight (French time), about 00.30 on August 15th. Historically, each day here ends at 6AM (American midnight) rather than European midnight. We do next day shipping, so we often get up and have to get busy while we are still half asleep to get everything out the door on time.
When I look at the order page, the top bar says that the order was made on the 14th (a day before it was), and on the right side it says the correct order date (15th), and says in bold "ship by august 17th", this date would normally be 8/15 (today) for an order placed between midnight & 6am.
I went & checked the shipping deadline, and this says yesterday's date (August 14th)!!!
I changed it to August 16th as today is a public holiday in France, and it notified the buyer of the non-change for reasons unknown. Back to the orders summary page & it hasn't changed a thing. Looks to me like someone has tried to change our midnight in France to the right time here & it's messed up other things all over the place.
No point in ranting about under-tested software mods going live, we all know this happens very regularly - just thought everyone would like to know, this could theoretically mess up our on-time shipping matrix, hopefully they'll get on it soon.
Have a good one everybody, Ed Short.
Extend your processing times to 1-3 days or 3-5 days so you'll have a buffer. You can still mail the package the next day as usual.
@TheVintagePineapple Thanks, just checked and the ship by date has corrected to tomorrow's date... maybe just a glitch, but just wanted to let others know in case it was widespread.
This was happening last week as well, order dispatch dates changed to the same day of the order (even though it initially showed next day dispatch date)
@FoundAndFlogged: There are many examples of time zone conversion issues - and apparently inconsistencies between how the same date is displayed on the app and on a browser view.
