Ship by dates generated by Etsy are incorrect

I’ve had several orders with an Etsy generated “ship by date” that end up being late when shipped on that date. For example: ship by date 12/17 (based on the order’s processing time, etc) and receive a notice saying the order may be late, buyer expects by 12/19-12/20 with USPS Priority Shipping. 
I ended up upgrading a customer’s shipping and eating the extra shipping cost in order to meet customer’s expectations. Wondering if this also affects Star Seller eligibility since the order would arrive late?  This is costly and unfair to sellers.

Ship by date and the delivery date are 2 different things. It's based on what USPS says - the mail is much slower this time of year. Late arrival does not affect Star Seller.

@TheFavorShoppeGifts: Are you purchasing Etsy labels and seeing the message at that time? If so, this is almost certainly a glitch and / or coding error that has been reported in this forum many times. Look at the actual order to see what the expected delivery date is.

Star Seller is based on shipped on time with verifiable tracking, delivery is irrelevant for your statistics.
