I'm wanting to know why the Share & Save link for my shop redirects to the old (normal) link? When it does that, does that mean I lose out on the chance to earn the 4%? I've tested this on multiple computers in this area and had 2 people across the US test the link as well.
If the link https://ingrammasattic.etsy.com is used and clicked - it redirects to the https://www.etsy.com/shop/ingrammasattic/?etsrc=sdt link.
From my reading on Share & Save, if it isn't in the format of myshopname.etsy.com, you don't get credit for a sale. If it is redirecting to the default link for customers though, how can I get credit?
An FB acquaintance on Facebook tested the Share & Save link for me - the https://ingrammasattic.etsy.com link clicked took them to this - https://www.etsy.com/shop/ingrammasattic/?etsrc=sdt&load_webview=1&bid=-TsCx-Z8FYhWPm-h7OyIQ7v1GPMb
Which is still not in the format of the myshopname.etsy.com.
Is anyone else seeing this? Am I missing something? Does the Share & Save link only work well on phones - or does it do this same thing on phones as well as on my desktop?
Thanx in advance!
Gail
@InGrammasAttic: Etsy has their back end set up to see that the link was to [#SHOPNAME#].etsy.com, counts it as a Share And Save click, and then does a 301 redirect to the etsy.com/shop/[#SHOPNAME#] URL for their SEO.
As long as the link clicked is in the format yourshopname.etsy.com, it works.

Thanx! I have been reading all the Etsy files on Share & Save for days now, looking for that info and couldn't find it any where in any of the links.
Long as it counts - it's all good. Thanx again!
@InGrammasAttic Did you get your 4 percent credited? I just had a sale where I added the link into a FB group but was charged regular fee's with no credit issued.
@ButtercupVintageCo No none yet. The stats there have been 96 clicks so far. Last month had 136.
I am going to need to go edit all my pinterest links of items though - they all have the old links. But there's over 1300 of them active and over what? 5000 sold out ones - not looking forward to that but quite a few come over from pinterest to shop.
I had a sale via Share & Save (I knew it because I sent the link to the buyer). Etsy charged me the regular fees. After one week (more or less), Etsy sent me an email saying that I didn't get the 4% and they gave me the 4% back.
@Bibolde Ahhh so it doesn’t always work properly. I guess I’m not surprised. Maybe I’ll be lucky like you because it was a nice size order.
Yep, I am noticing the same thing happening on Pinterest ... most pins posted with the share & save link are being reformatted, which (1) ensures Etsy sellers do not get any credit for clicks; (2) sellers end up paying a huge chunk of change in OSA's; (3) clicked pins show buyers a row of "similar items" above the Etsy product; and (4) the reformatted link cannot be changed within the pin to the correct S&S link (gives errors).
@TBQSC: Reformatted to what? We spot checked some of our pins and they have keep the share and save URL we entered at the time we created them.
@TBQSC I gave examples of what the links are being reformatted to in my opening post. If the link https://ingrammasattic.etsy.com is used and clicked - it redirects to the https://www.etsy.com/shop/ingrammasattic/?etsrc=sdt link.
BagmakerSupply says Etsy is seeing the link on the back end, recognizing it as a Share And Save click and then doing a 301 redirect.
I accepted that as the answer until I find out differently.
@BagmakerSupply reformatted from my short SS url to the longer url (which doesn’t have my shop name in it & url cannot be edited to re-add the SS link).
@InGrammasAttic that is exactly what I am seeing in many of my recent pins that I know were originally pinned using the SS link.
@TBQSC: "... reformatted from my short SS url to the longer url ..." If I understand you correctly and the actual pin is being changed, this sounds like something that Pinterest is doing rather than Etsy.
@TBQSC this pin
https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/226094843786247653/
has this link
https://tbqsc.etsy.com/listing/1540340090?utm_medium=SellerListingTools&utm_campaign=Share&utm_source=Pinterest&share_time=1696199475000&utm_term=so.slt
So the links on your pins are in the correct format.
@CappuccinoLacethat was very kind of you to check that for me, thank you! While some of my pins are showing correctly, there are many others that have been changed without my doing so. I used to be able to edit them, but no longer can. It's just frustrating.
No probs. Of the 29 etsy pins on your main page under created, only 4 of them aren't showing your S&S link.
There isn't any kind of date on pinterest pins, which I find annoying.
Whether it's Etsy or Pinterest making those changes, it should not be happening at all, as it's blantant interference with somone's business!
It's doing the same thing to me. It didn't at first. And Share & Save coupons worked. But now they are all redirecting (I too tried multiple browsers, clearing browsers, asking friends to try). I send alerts to my email list a couple of times a month, and regularly post on Pinterest and Instagram. Also NO Share & Save links appear to "just click" in my backend for sales and coupons like they used to. Something is not working.
