Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

I reopened my shop after a 6 week holiday on 1st July. I do not owe anything.

My shop:-

- says I am still on holiday

- will not allow me to renew expired listings

- initially had all listings hidden and annotated 'deactivated by etsy' in red

- after my first help request to them one listing became active and they told me they had fixed the problem

- from this one active listing I could copy and create new ones

- I messaged them back and said the problems were not fixed 14 days ago - but no response

- I started a new request 3 days ago (other one was closed by them) asked for a call back. One more listing was activated by them and request states there was action 2 days ago - but I haven't heard from them

- it is now nearly 3 weeks my shop has been closed and I cannot get any help

- They have activated etsy ads and are charging me theose as well as the new listings I have had to create - while my originals sit there 'deactivated'.

Anyone have any suggestions besides close the shop and get a website???

Hello and thanks for visiting! I’m working on fulfilling my current orders right now, but will be back soon. I think that message appears when Etsy puts a shop into vacation mode.  So sorry.  It can be a struggle on this site these days unfortunately.

Just looked again and now the message is gone but there are zero items.  Maybe something is going on right now.

Yes, Id say something weird is going on with your shop. I looked at it a couple times based on what others were saying here. First time, a vacation banner was present. Second time, no vacation banner, no items visible although a drop down menu that says 20 items.

So I clicked on the menu, and it says 11 earrings and 9 pendants. I clicked on earrings and I see your listings. So there are 20 that are live but they don't show up on your shops landing page.

At least that's what I'm seeing, all of this was in the last 10 minutes. Best advice, as stated by others already, keep at Etsy through the same email thread. Reply to the canned responses until they actually help you

I still believe it is the hallmark word. I know you use it in a completely different sense but if hallmark issued a take down notice they are not looking as to the sense of the word. Just like the seller who made a listing for a customer named Chanel. It got deactivated automatically. And you also have hallmark in your profile.

But any UK person who is selling silver over a certain weight must have it hallmarked - which is an important selling point.  Plus many, many vintage pieces of silver (and gold) will be hallmarked.

Hallmark is a trademark for greetings cards.

But sellers of sterling literally have to be able to say their items are hallmarked.

So I don't think it can be this, even by Etsy standards it wouldnt make sense.

@TinTeddy  I know, but it also doesn't make sense to deactivate a listing with having the same name as the Chanel brand, and yet... Bots can't differentiate. If that's what it was then the listings will be reinstated once a human looks at it. Which could take awhile.

I sometimes include "hallmark" in the title and always in the description of a silver item to describe what the hallmarks say.

It could be Chester Hallmark, London Hallmark, Birmingham Hallmark. It's never been a problem.

@CuriosAnCollectibles @TinTeddy  I realize that the British hallmark is an important factor in selling silver jewelry. When the op gave the list of tags the first thing I thought of was that it could be the word hallmark because it wouldn’t be the first time that in a company sweep items got deactivated by mistake and later reinstated again. There are other Companies outside the greeting card one who have hallmark in their name. To me it’s sounded (Etsy logical) to program a bot with certain words including hallmark. 
There has also been a lot of takedowns lately concerning animals which don’t make a whole lot of sense either. But once viewed by an actual person got reinstated again. 
I‘m not saying that’s what it was, but it could have been. Especially looking at the history of wrong deactivations by Etsy bots.

Yes, the dangled carrot on a stick reward for star sellers only - I wonder if it's jumping through all the same hoops to get to their final answer - completely exhausted & worn down, giving up without a real answer?

YES! There has definitely been some action! Not all problems resolved but nearly there. I have 3 expired items and 1 deactivated item that still shows 'Deactivated by etsy' in red which cannot be updated ie renewed. But good news. Thank you all for your time and advice, so good to know there such nice people out there xx

I see your shop open with 18 items (9 earrings & 9 pendants). You didn't mention whether you were using a cell or computer. Did you do a forums search to see if others in your country are having the same issue?

I see 22 items.

When you return from vacation it can take a day to get everything flowing again.

It's also bee suggested to enter vacation mode again and then leave it.  

I can purchase if I desire.

It's possibly your computer interacting with Etsy for the display issues.  Reboot, Clean out cache.  Run utitlities.  If you are not regularly cleaning your computer there can be a lot od dendritis built up.   What OS are you using.  If there is a lot in the background that can cause problems with Etsy.  Make sure browser it up to date.  IF you have an older computer and running Windows 10 that can be even harder on any system.  Recent upgrades can require a lot from a computer.

If Etsy sees that your shop is up and running on their end and you don't reply to the initial response back Etsy feels the issue is solved.  You have to send the email back with information on what you are experiencing.

Since I see your shop open and able to purchase chances are your shop is fine.  You may have gotten caught up in the glitches of last weekend where renewal and other issues were impacting shops.  Those issues have been solved but any shop can have continuing issues if their computer does not work well with Etsy's server.  It can happen to anyone.

Hi

I have just had a look at your shop on a desktop I'm also in the UK you are open and everything looks as normal like it should, every thing is listed 22 items, I can open them and all looks as it should to add to basket quantity available etc so it may be a glitch on your end not showing but everyone is able to purchase every item you have is listed in the shop,
