I reopened my shop after a 6 week holiday on 1st July. I do not owe anything.

My shop:-

- says I am still on holiday

- will not allow me to renew expired listings

- initially had all listings hidden and annotated 'deactivated by etsy' in red

- after my first help request to them one listing became active and they told me they had fixed the problem

- from this one active listing I could copy and create new ones

- I messaged them back and said the problems were not fixed 14 days ago - but no response

- I started a new request 3 days ago (other one was closed by them) asked for a call back. One more listing was activated by them and request states there was action 2 days ago - but I haven't heard from them

- it is now nearly 3 weeks my shop has been closed and I cannot get any help

- They have activated etsy ads and are charging me theose as well as the new listings I have had to create - while my originals sit there 'deactivated'.

Anyone have any suggestions besides close the shop and get a website???

Re: Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

If they are deactivated by etsy, then that's another issue.

Any idea why? Amber? Beads?

Re: Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

I’ve become very frustrated with Etsy. I loved it at first but then we started getting pushed into “Free Shipping “ ( I lose $$ because my items can be heavy), then they took away the sellers phone line (ugh!), I’ve requested help and never get it. I just feel like they see their sellers as a necessary evil that I’d prefer not to deal with. I’d like to put my shop on vacation now after having a prosperous first couple years, i with I knew of alternative websites to etsy in the US. What’s happening with SilverforLife is what I’m worried about so I’ve left it sit . I haven’t posted anything new, looking for a new home, any suggestions?

I've been looking at few in UK but although they say they are for crafters they allow sales of cheap manufactured jewellery. I know etsy do this too but not found one yet that is any better.

Strange, I went to your shop on the app, it saw your listings, then it refreshes and none are there, but it shows me your earrings section up top.

I know it’s hard to do nowadays, but I would definitely contact Etsy. Maybe it’s thinking you’re still on vacation?

Re: Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

Thanks for taking the time to take a look for me.

Unfortunately I have opened 4 help requests and only received one reply 16 days ago to the first one which they closed saying they had fixed it - when they hadn't.

I sent one this morning which they close immediately without doing anything or answering me.

Re: Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

@SilverForLifeDesigns only open one help request. Did they close it or does it say "respond to this email if you still need help" or something like that. Keep replying to their emails until you get a proper response. Do not open more tickets.

I see 8 listings in your shop but in the categories it totals 20 listings which is totally weird.

I tried to renew an expired listing on the weekend and it was deactivated by Etsy with no notification. I emailed support. The following day it was back in my expired listings and I was able to renew it properly. Still no response from Etsy though. Aggravating!

A while back, something similar - and it took 3 weeks for a real response, not including the autorepsonses in between.

Good Luck!

@SilverForLifeDesigns - don't keep opening new tickets.  That will drop you to the bottom of the ladder.  Only answer one and keep answering it with "I still need help."  Maybe go back to the first one you received and tell them you still need help.

Betreff: Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

@SilverForLifeDesigns  If I remember your earlier post correctly there was an issue with listings being deactivated by Etsy and we gave the advice to check for the word ‚amber‘. Are those the listings now that show deactivated?

Betreff: Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

@SilverForLifeDesigns  When I checked last time there were 38 listings with amber in the tags. What happened to them?

Re: Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

If Etsy has deactivated your items you won't see them. Check your messsges/emails even junk to see if you've been given as to why they're not showing your listings.

It's possible you're using "Etsy offensive" words or terms.

Hi Sunny, you said

'When I checked last time there were 38 listings with amber in the tags. What happened to them? ' I haven't got 38 listings, I have 21 and none of them have amber in them. I am searching for the list of offensive words. I can see my deactivated items and they say 'deactivated by etsy' in red.

Re: Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

Hmmm, sorry, maybeI’m confusing you with someone else.

If you see the deactivated by etsy message across the listing then it has to be for one of Etsy‘s no no words.Like Cuban, ivory, amber, bone, etc. can you write us the tags you used or take a screenshot?

But not 20 individual items. It just says 20 items. Only 6 items appear.

@SunnytyDE  It was a different seller, I remember I tried to help too, but apparently it wasn't very helpful

Re: Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

When I look it says you have 20 items which is 11 earrings and 9 pendants however I can only see 8 items for sale, even when I click on the shop sections it's only showing me 6 earrings and 2 pendants. When you open a case on Etsy you should keep replying back to the same one and not keep reopening new ones as they won't respond to you. I was going to suggest using the chat facility but the link to that has disappeared from my dashboard. perhaps you can access it through the help section?  Hopefully a moderator will spot this post x

Re: Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

Hi,

I don't have the chat facility - I think they have taken it away full stop.

I had to start a new request because they closed the first one saying it was fixed.

Do not start a new case.  Always reply to the original thread and state your issue has not been resolved.  And do not reactivate a listing etsy has deactivated until it is resolved.  There is a reason listings get deactivated and if you put the listing back up again in a different form, this is grounds for closing the shop.

I know it is difficult to wait but you have to wait until you get a reply from etsy.  In the meantime, try to figure out why the listings were deactivated in the first place.

Re: Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

Not sure that waiting 3 weeks for a resolution or even a reply is the norm is it? I've never had a problem before.

I know it says 'usually replies in 1 -2 days' but clearly that's not the case.

Re: Shall I just close my shop and give up waiting?!

Etsy takes it's sweet time responding (and sometimes stops).

From what I can gather from this whole thread is that you had listings deactivated by Etsy, you opened a case, they responded.

You kept trying to relist and kept opening cases.

IF you indeed do have listings that are against TOU, and you keep trying to list them, you can have your shop permanently closed.
