Setting up sales on Etsy

I am very surprised that Etsy does not give sellers the option to renew a sale. They limit the time of a sale to a maximum of 30 days.

I have over 400 listings and am growing daily, often times I would like to extend the sale beyond the 30 days allotted but in order to do so I have to go through each of my listings 1 by 1 to figure out which items were on sale. This takes me 2 full days every 4 weeks.

I really wish Etsy would start to allow sellers to renew an expired listing to avoid this issue.

These little changes would make selling on this platform a lot smoother and easier

I hope they make this change soon

I think it is incredible that you have time to carve all those items, great skills!

I don't know why you would want to repeatedly renew sales? Surely a sale is supposed to be a limited activity giving people a discount from the usual price. I believe having a constant sale is dubious, and illegal in some places.

@CrystalStunners: "... the sale beyond the 30 days ..." Have you checked your local, state, and federal laws to see what limitations there are on the length of sales? Some areas have rules about how long an item must be offered at regular price before it is put on sale, how often an item can be on sale, etc. For example, shops that run permanent sales are blatantly in violation of federal regulations and are, according to the Federal Trade Commission, essentially committing fraud against the buyer.

Re: Setting up sales on Etsy

It is illegal in some jurisdictions to run sales past a set amount of days.  Etsy chose 30 days so they would be compliant everywhere in the world.  I worked for a company that ran afoul of the FTC for this very reason.  It was not pretty.  Had to go to court, pay a hefty fine and then they continually came around checking for violations for over a year.

If you continuously run the same sale on the same items, buyers will begin to think your items are over priced and will not buy.

If you still want to mark the same items down over and over put them in a special section and then all you have to do is create a sale on that section.
