Hi,
I have a listing that I have been promoting through Etsy Ads since Decmber 27th. It's going well and I have 81 sales and received the Best Seller tag a few days ago. The funny thing is I am getting zero organic views or sales. Also when I check my main keywords they are not showing up. I went all the way to page 10 looking.
I contacted support and they said I am at the top of the page for my main keyword and sent me a screenshot. But I get 0 organic views so it doesnt make any sense. I can't be in 2nd position for my main keyword and not get ANY organic views. And on my side I can't see it anywhere, anyone know what this could be?
Thanks,
Thomas
Everyone gets a different search result.
@Brookspot: No one knows for certain, but based on other posts in this forum Etsy stats seem to be at the very least inaccurate.
Plus keep in mind that if everyone on this forum searched for the exact same phrase they would all get different results. Because of "personalized searches" you can NOT rely on anyone's search results to define how your listing is ranked. There are many many factors that affect listing placement and the relative weight of each factor probably changes constantly. Even exact word matches to your title no longer ensure that you will appear on page 1. Your listing may be appearing on page 251 and Etsy is only showing the first 250 pages to the world.
Also, how common and how much competition is there for the specific keyword you are searching for. One of the search factors is probably shipping and since it appears you do not have the "Smooth shipping" badge that may be affecting your placement in search.
You need to give up on the concept of Etsy search providing the results that you expect. Etsy is proud of the fact that they provide search results which they think you will actually purchase regardless of what you actually searched for. There is a very interesting post at https://community.etsy.com/t5/Marketing-Your-Business/Etsy-search-is-moving-away-from-relevancy/td-p... that you may want to take the time to read.
"I went all the way to page 10 looking." - that's not very far, so it doesn't mean that you aren't there. Without knowing the keyword/s and listing, though, none of us can check.
So 100% of your traffic for that listing is from Etsy Ads? Because organic Etsy search traffic shows up in 3 different places: Etsy search,
Etsy app & other Etsy pages and of course Direct & other traffic (if the browser blocks transmitting source data for privacy reasons).
