I replied 1 message after 24 hours and the score dropped from 100% to 91%. And I always ship everything on time with tracking number yet my score dropped from 100% to 96% stating I am missing 1 tracking number (which is not correct).
Always want to opt out of this but it's not an option. I know how to manage my operation at the highest standard yet I got graded down due to some weird inaccurate calculation with little transparency.
You opt out by simply ignoring it and placing the need to actually look after your customers first. If you do this chances are that eventually it will result in you not getting any badges. Any perceived advantages from having the badge are dubious at best, particularly when you consider that whole categories of sellers with lightweight and/or lower-priced items are unlikely to achieve the badge on a regular basis, since striving to do so would actually mean lowering their levels of customer service.
You can download your report from the star seller page and see what order they say is missing tracking. Calculations are basic math. If you do not get a high number of messages, replying late to one can drop your percentage down quite a bit. The same with orders and tracking.
This ss program just sucks in so many ways. First the IP infringers and fake handmade resellers are getting the badges, it just sucks
The metric is
ships on time with tracking.
It has to be marked as completed, and the tracking number, from a recognised shipper, entered, before the ship-by date,
if you enter the tracking number later, it counts against you
If you download the csv, you will see which bit etsy doesn't like, whether it's the timing, or the number from a recognised shipper.
....
for the messages, the last ones roll over to a new month, as they give us time to answer, but the same as above
download the csv, and you will see which one etsy doesn't like, and why
The whole thing seems a sham. I meet ALL the prerequisites month after month, but will never make the grade because I do not sell at least $600 a month. It seems their traffic is controlled again. One day I will get 74 visits and others 1 or 0. No rhyme or reason. Somehow I make a measly sale now and then.
it's $300 in a 3 month period,
so average $100 a month, not $600 a month
If you make less than $300 in a 3 month period, then I don't suppose etsy really worries if you like their star seller programme or not.
@CraftyCornishMaids Wow. Slam. No wonder I don't get on the forums more often.
Thank goodness for people like @CraftyCornishMaids that help stem the flow of untruths that get started in the forum.
If people would just "read" the rules set out for SSB and follow those rules, it would be so much easier.
My other shop is often under the amount, I don't think etsy cares about my other shop much either
not sure what the wow slam is about
It's simple what it's about.
You "dared" to state the truth.
It is inaccurate. Of course I checked the CSV data and then found discrepancy. But there is no way to voice their error. I don’t care about their badge as I hold high-standard customer service regardless of Etsy “grading system”. I just want to opt out.
I have serious doubts about many things being sold as handmade and the shop has a list of tons of production partners
There are so many shops selling fake handmade items from aliexpress and so on. But they get the star seller badge. IP infringers also get the star seller badge.... so no it is not accurate at all or fair.
