I’m having a very recent issue where when I’m on the (Purple) Seller app pg showing my stats (visits, purchases, etc..) when I click the icon in the very top right corner (next to the copy link icon) that would normally take me to my shop (but within the Seller app), it’s rerouting me to the (Orange) Buyer app, & counting my engagement as “visits.”
Anyone else experiencing this, &/or is this just a temporary glitch?? TIA!!
I guess (before this issue) it’s always sent me to my pg in the browser…never noticed that before. However, I ended up just signing out of the Buyer app & deleting it, so now it’s behaving normally…thanks for the input everyone!! Have a great Sunday & happy selling!
I just tried/tested it, and I got the same result as you. Whether it has always done that or not, I do not know, as it is the first time I have tried this.
It doesn’t usually do this, it will normally send you to your shop but within the Seller app…unless it’s some type of an update, but again…it’s messing with my metrics, showing my engagement as visits.
I tried this and I was taken to my shop front page in Chrome (I don't have the Buyer app installed at this time). I rarely use the Seller app, and wasn't even aware of the 2 icons at the upper right.
Ok, well this is a specific question related to the Seller app. It was something that use to not happen, but has been happening for the past few days.
I had that happen for a while, last year, I think. I fixed it by changing something in my phone settings - for the orange icon Buyer app - I think I clicked on "force stop".
I just Googled "what does force stop do in an app" and it closes it to keep it from "running in the background" until you manually restart it again. I'm pretty sure this is what I did that worked for me, even though I still use the Buyer app once in a while.
Ok, I had turned off Notifications, as well as the app running in the background, but I’m not sure how to force stop (I have an iPhone)?? I will Google it though & start there. I’ve used the Seller app for over a year, & it’s possibly done this once before, but my memory of it is vague.
Just Googled it…I actually do that all the time, so guess that’s not it? I even logged out of the Orange/Buyer app, but the Seller app will still reroute me & make me sign in in order to see my store…just weird & probably just a temporary glitch.
Maybe it's just how my phone is set up but it never takes me from Seller app to Buyer app ... instead it just takes me to my shop in the browser. I actually never knew you could access your shop via the link at top of Seller page! I always accessed my shop via clicking the 3 horizontal lines (More) icon on the bottom right side of seller app page, then click on "View Shop on Etsy" link.

This has been happening to me too. I tried signing out of my Etsy buyer app (the orange icon) and it is still happening.
When I open Etsy in the browser on my phone, it stays in the browser, but the minute I search anything it opens the app. Also very annoying
"UP TO 60% OFF: Shop Labor Day deals in the app! Terms apply."
I'm guessing since Etsy is featuring a Labor Day sale on their homepage that ONLY works in the app, perhaps that is why there are so many redirects between the 2 apps & the browser. It is funny they feature this banner at the top of their home browser page, but you cannot actually click on it or do anything outside of the app.
While I can understand why they are pushing the app, I fail to understand why they would discriminate against people who prefer a browser to the app.
