I had a total of 19 messages during the Oct 1 - Dec 31, 2023 timeframe and 4 of the messages on Dec 30, 2023 were not included. Those 4 messages show up on the spreadsheet for the next timeframe and are correctly labeled as responded to in time. Because of this error, my seller response rate was calculated at 93% in stead of 95%, which means I did not receive the star seller rating as I should have. How can I get Etsy to correct the error?
It’s not an error, but just how it works. The last day or two aren’t included into Star Seller metrics.
Etsy can not adjust the metrics and will not retroactively award the Star.
Better luck next time.
They are extremely unclear on the details of this. Their wording says they “may” roll the last two days into the new period.
@SpottedFawnBabyCo: "... 4 of the messages on Dec 30, 2023 were not included." Usually a new incoming thread is not included in Star Seller stats until after the 24 hour reply window has passed regardless of when you replied. Star Seller stats (and the CSV file) are in UTC (not your time zone) so December 31 to you may be January 1 to Star Seller, and both seem to be updated only once per day so there may be an additional day's delay.
How did you figure out what time zone they use? In the definition page I found it did not clarify. It said that 12 midnight was the start of a new day. But who’s day!? Haha.
etsy rolls the last couple of days messages of the month into the new month, to give time to respond.
So they are all counted, just offset a few days, ones from last few days of sept will be counted in October
How many of the 19 were not replied to in time?
Only 1. And it was before I knew about the whole response time. It was from another seller who I met in person.
If you had 19 messages, and 1 of the 19 was late, that's under 95%, so you wouldn't have the badge anyway - it's 94.7%, and etsy drops the last number, they don't round up
That’s a bummer they don’t round up. I’m so frustrated over this and many other things.
@SpottedFawnBabyCo Not an error. The last two days are not counted for the next month. In this case January. They will count for February.
