Hi, I was so excited that I was meeting all the targets for the star seller badge, but 2 sales have adversely affected the on-time dispatch & tracking target.
The first one was for an item listed at £10.99, but sold with a 50% discount for £5.49. This was dispatched the next day, but is not showing as dispatched on time! No tracking number was provided as I didn't think this was necessary - Etsy guidelines state 'You only need tracking for orders that are £10 or more' and the order was under £10.
The second item was sold on 21st Dec, the shipping label purchased via Etsy and item posted on 22nd Dec and received by the customer on 23rd Dec! This sale is showing as having no processing time and not dispatched on time! All my listings have a processing time of 1-2 days and according to Etsy guidelines 'Dispatch on time with a label from Etsy always counts towards Star Seller'.
I feel that I have met the targets and am being incorrectly penalised. Please can someone help?
Kate
From the 'how to become a star seller' ... We use the total value of the items purchased before any discounts, not including postage and taxes. That would account for your first order.
It's possible the second order hasn't updated the info yet because of holidays etc. but I'd only be guessing. Did the system mark it as complete? I don't use Etsy labels so don't know how it works. I manually add my tracking number and mark complete.
Thanks for your reply.
Lesson learnt for the 1st order, I'll bear that in mind in future.
2nd item is still showing as missing processing time, which I don't understand and means at 94% I just missed out on star seller.
Buying the postage label automatically marks the order as complete.
@FlorablueDesigns: As @AnniebelloPaper explained you misunderstood which amount is used for the tracking threshold. As to the second order, there is a known issue where some orders "lose" their processing time and count against you for Star Seller. As far as we know, there has been no response or resolution from Etsy concerning this.
Thanks for your response. It's so disheartening to meet all the requirements, then this happens and it's a known issue!
the first one is over £10, as etsy takes the price before discounts,
However, if you buy standard postage from etsy, or Royal Mail click and drop, then Etsy accepts the QR number, you don't need to send tracked.
The second is that some don't have a post code for ships-from, or processing days, so etsys rubbish code gets confused and can't do the arithmetic
Thanks for your message. I didn't know that it was the price before discounts, but do now. Not sure why the 2nd one hasn't met the requirements, this was to a repeat customer and previous orders have gone through fine.
