it has always been my understanding that an order (that has gone missing in the post) is covered through Etsy’s purchase protection programme when a postage label has been purchased through Etsy.
Is it now the case that it must include tracking?
Etsy says you qualify as said here:
‘Valid tracking provided and/or it was mailed out with a postage label purchased through etsy’
but when I contacted etsy for help they seemed unclear and unable to help me.

It might help to clarify where you are, as different countries have different services and knowing what services you were using, or had the option of using, may help in getting correct responses that are valid in your situation.
