Seller App Not allowing photos on android devices

Two days ago, adding photos to my listings using either of my Samsung Android devices (Tablet, Phone) stopped working. I re-installed the app on both devices and reset my camera settings. 

My wife has an Apple phone and it works.

What version of the Android os are you using?  I am on One UI version 5.1 and the Android version is 13.  All of this is running an S20FE-5G.   I think that Samsung just dropped support for the A52017 so if your phones are that age, or older, could be the problem.  Assuming that you are both using fairly current Android phones, then the problem you have right now is not one I am having.  I have just now tried attaching photos using my S20, and I also had an older S10 kicking around so I tried that too.   Even my A5 worked, but it is on the edge of becoming a paperweight...no more security updates for that one, and that will impact my ability to use it for anything.

I suggest that you try the following:

check that your current os (operating system) is up-to-date;

check your settings aren't conflicting (for example, you may have a setting that prohibits uploads or downloads under certain circumstances.

Thank you for all of the suggestions. I do have an older Samsung Note 10+, but I double checked and my os is up to date. I double checked the permissions as well, and they are all enabled.

I made sure the Etsy app was also updated to the latest version, and even went through the process of enabling the 2 factor authentification. Still not able to upload pictures.

Curiously, it will allow me to upload videos though.

i also have the Note 10 plus, it worked perfectly fine, every day up till two weeks ago...then they did something, changed something in their format and now it doesn't work for us....no matter if you uninstall/reinstall/all updated to current, settings not changed...ugh this is ridiculous...unacceptable.

It’s being difficult with Apple/iphones, too. And today I wanted to add a photo to a listing, but didn't. Once loaded onto here, it looked too different.

Also worth noting that it allowed me to upload a photo when creating a new listing entirely. I normally copy from my other listings, as there is not too much information that changes, so that tends to be much easier than creating a new listing for me. I hope Etsy can fix this!

I am having the same problem and have been for months now. It used to work just fine. I have Android S23 also.

why doesn't etsy tech people come and reply to any of these? i check week after week and nothing is fixed.

I know. It is definitely frustrating! I have a lot of variations in the items that I sell, and it is a huge pain to have to input all of these for every listing instead of being able to use the copy feature. But that is the only way that I can upload the photos directly onto the app from my phone is by create a new listing. I keep checking google play for an update for the Etsy seller app, but it hasn't happened.

This has started for me too.  I have checked my operating system, updates all the apps, etc.  Why is Etsy not addressing this?  Has anyone found a fix?

I just updated my seller app again, and this must have been the update that fixed it, because I can finally uploaded pictures and not have to create an entire new listing to do so!

It's good that they fixed it, but a little communication from Etsy would have gone a long way, no?

This problem has reoccurred as of the end of March 2025.  Now the video editing has gone wrong too as they forgot to add a save button to the screen, so you cannot trim them to length or crop or make other adjustments with videos.
