My seller account was hacked and someone listed a bunch of stamps for sale. They put on the page to order from their website for a discount instead of Etsy. I wasn’t aware of this until a sale was made on Etsy. I’m very suspicious of the actual sale as well and I haven’t done anything on my end to refund because something seems fishy. I’ve messaged the buyer and the response doesn’t seem appropriate. I deactivated the listings, turned off the ads, changed my password and turned on two factor authentication. I put a message into Etsy but haven’t gotten a reply yet. Not really sure how to proceed from here. What do I do about the super fishy sale that went through?
There have been a few similar reports in the forums in recent weeks about hacked shops which encourage people to go to external sites etc.
Hopefully Etsy Support reply to you soon. Try the contact options again perhaps and see if you can choose from the topics to find one that offers a live chat option to speed things up: https://www.etsy.com/help/contact
@HighForestKnits Here is the link to request a callback.
I'd cancel and refund the sale.
Unfortunately they took out ads as well. So the money left from the sale is about $10 short for me to refund. I realize it’s only $10 but I’m not refundinguntil Etsy gets back to me
