unfortunately, there is nothing that Etsy or anyone can do.

Of course, immediately change your bank settings, and cancel any/all cards you have provided them.

these folks target new sellers and make a very convincing argument. I'm so sorry that you were taken, but...all big sites (Amazon, eBay, etc) are also being targeted.

If anyone else has any suggestions for the OP, please. I truly wish that there was a cure. I actually wish that Etsy required all new sellers to go through a 'Seller Bootcamp' where information like this is provided, and shops aren't open until this is completed. Big companies don't give folks access to certain online portals or transactions until they do so this is not without precedent.

Again, I'm so sorry OP. But that money is gone forever. Please take all precautions that they don't hit you again.

How did you pay the scammers? if you paid them via your bank or Revolut you may be protected but you have to act quick.

If the money went from your own bank account, contact the fraud department of your bank and block the card

If they got you to open a Revolut account, open your app and initiate live chat asap and explain to them what happened and provide them with the receiving account details.

Also report it to Action Fraud in the UK and get a crime number

UK: From Monday 7 October 2024, all firms who provide payment services must reimburse consumers who have fallen victim to an APP scam when using Faster Payments or CHAPS (with some exemptions).

From 7 October 2024, building societies and banks will be required to reimburse customers who have lost money to fraud where they have been tricked into making a payment to an authorised push payment fraud scam under new rules introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator.7 Oct 2024

Scammers tend to target new shops.

If you receive an actual order, you will see it in your "Orders and Shipping" section and you will receive an email from Etsy notifying you that you have a sale, and there will be a notification in your dashboard as well.
