In September of this year I started receiving this type of messages like the one I show, from scammers, which are very annoying, I guess I'm not the only one who receives them. I hope Etsy can fix this soon.
"Hello! I want to buy your product through etsy! etsy requires this
e.m.a.i.l from the seller, please write to me so I can buy your product"

It is good you put it in here, so many sellers are still getting caught daily.
I still do not know why they can not put a banner in the dashboards warning sellers

Re: Scammers asking for my email
Just stick them in spam, Etsy will eventually remove the accounts when they see a spike in spam messages to other sellers

Re: Scammers asking for my email
Thank you, I have done that, but others continue to arrive and as this has never happened to me and now several have arrived, that is why I have put it here.

Re: Scammers asking for my email
Yeah that's been going on since July maybe earlier. Etsy has been catching some and killing the accounts before you can even reply or mark as spam which is some progress I suppose. It has slowed down a bit for me at least. I was getting multiple scammer messages everyday for a while there now I'm just getting a few a week. The scammers are still at it though as there are usually multiple posts about it every day here in the forums.

Re: Scammers asking for my email
Yes, I have always received, but very occasionally, messages from scammers, but not as often as now and they are all with the variant of asking for the email. It looks so innocent that it is very easy to fall for especially new sellers. I almost fell for the first one I received because I thought, could it be that Etsy has changed their policies and now this requirement is needed? But I investigated just in case and I realized he was a scammer.
