Scammers On My ETSY Store! I Need Tech Support Please!

Hi Tech Dept

I have an issue which I believe Tech Dept should look at. Earlier on today a Scammer communicated with me, impersonating that they were Etsy Staff. They got very close to accessing my funds today!
I have resolved the issue making my account safe  from thieving scammers, but the issue I have is that, on my dashboard page,
If I can point you to the below link and heading, you will see that the "1 order" is clickable. Could you please remove it as it now is very suspicious to me and I can't remove it myself.

Welcome Back  -MizetoArts
1 order-2 active listings

regards
Anna Morris

I can see from your shop heading that you have one sale.  And I can click to see what was sold.

That's really not a big deal at all.  I have over 41,000 sales, and you can see every single one if you care to look.

There is an option to keep people from clicking to see what you've sold.  It's in 'Settings'.

Are you sure that's not a legitimate purchase?   The scammers aren't actually ordering anything, they just claim they do.

@WildWearThreads
If it says “1 order” under your shop name, then you must have a legitimate order.  Go to your shop dashboard and click on “orders.”  Legitimate orders will be listed there. There isn’t a way for scammers to get your shop to say “1 sale.” Only Etsy can do that.

That being said, there are a lot of scammers preying on new shops.  Be aware that a customer NEVER needs your email or financial information in order to complete a purchase.  Similarly, Etsy will not ask for your email or financial information.  Why would they?  They already have both your email and your account information.  If you receive a message that says it’s from Etsy, check the “From Etsy” folder under your messages.  If a message is not in the “From Etsy” section then it is a scam, and NOT from Etsy.

Is it possible that you made a sale and received a message from a scammer in close proximity to each other, thus cause you to believe a legitimate sale is a scam?

Re: Scammers On My ETSY Store! I Need Tech Support Please!

that has nothing to do with having the 1 sale and 2 active listings.

you need to fulfill the order.

there are no scammers in your shop.

just spam the messages when they come in.

Re: Scammers On My ETSY Store! I Need Tech Support Please!

@WildWearThreads  Look under your shop manager.  Tap the little “house” to the left of your profile picture.  Then go to “Orders and Shipping.”  If there is an order showing there, then it is legitimate.  You can also look under “Dashboard.” If someone placed a legitimate order, it will show in your dashboard feed. (You might have to click “+ Show More” to see it.

PLEASE PLEASE look in these 2 places.  Anything that shows under “Orders and Shipping” is a real order.  The scammers have no way to gain access to Etsy servers to fake that,

I am concerned that you will have a case opened against you, or receive a 1-star review if your customer does not receive their order.

The order isn’t under “1 order.”  It is in your shop dashboard under “Orders and Shipping.”

Re: Scammers On My ETSY Store! I Need Tech Support Please!

If you don't want anyone to see your sold items, go to your shop manager, then to settings on the left-hand side, then go to options and in the second to last box it will say:

Sold Listings

Want shoppers to be able to see these?

Sure, show them.
No, hide them.

And click on No, hide them

and then hit the SAVE button at the bottom left corner

Then no one will see what you sold.
I hope that helps

On dirait bien que deux choses qui n'ont rien à voir l'une avec l'autre vous sont arrivées presqu'en même temps.

D'accord avec ZenCatPottery, nineteen27

Re: Scammers On My ETSY Store! I Need Tech Support Please!

@ug4eed4y3v99setm  There is a “From Etsy” section under Messages.  All legitimate messages from Etsy will not only be in the “Inbox,” but will also be in “From Etsy.”  If a message is NOT in the “From Etsy” folder, then it is NOT from Etsy.

Re: Scammers On My ETSY Store! I Need Tech Support Please!

Is it possible that as a first sale, it is "pending", and that's why the OP is not seeing it in her orders yet?

Re: Scammers On My ETSY Store! I Need Tech Support Please!

Unless Etsy changed things very recently, pending orders don't show in your shop until processing has finished.  So this isn't a pending order.

Re: Scammers On My ETSY Store! I Need Tech Support Please!

you have been messaged by a scammer, send the message to spam -remeber anyone can message you on Etsy , just like anyone can email you

You have also received a legitimate order

two very separate things

To find the order go to your sellers dashboard , and go to the orders tab , We can see the order is for a mug and in your orders section you will find the order info which you need to action.

here is info for you in relation to the current scams we are seeing on Etsy as well as other online platforms

If you have a genuine sale, it will appear on your Dashboard
