I received this message from “”Support””
Hello, this is your Etsy Staff employee speaking with you
Due to an update to our payment system and global security update, order processing for your account is currently suspended!
You will need to identify your store. As soon as this is done, it will be back up and running normally. Please fill out this form to verify your store: (link here)
Sincerely, Etsy Staff.
I opened the link ad I was asked to put all my card data: name, cvv, date, and even the amount of money I have there.
I did it, but imediately thought it was a scam and I had to block my card
Is it real?
NO, it's a SCAM. Real messages from etsy will be in the "from etsy" section of your inbox. It's not visible on the app, so always check on a computer or a browser.
When or if etsy needs information from you, you will see a notice on your dashboard.
Definite scam.

If you receive an actual order, you will see it in your "Orders and Shipping" section and you will receive an email from Etsy notifying you that you have a sale, and there will be a notification in your dashboard as well.
Nope Scam. Look at your messages in browser, not app. that message if legit, would be in the category “from Etsy” not just saying we’re from Etsy. Ignore it, mark as spam.
It is a scam, at least you have blocked your card and hopefully have done so before the scammers used the info.
Etsy does not need to ask you for your card number, they already have it from when you opened your shop. The massive red flag is when the scammers ask how much is in your account, they ask this, so they do not overspend your hard-earned money.
Etsy will never ask how much money you have in your bank account, ever. Never click on a link that takes you offsite,m that is classic scammer tactics.
i just got the SAME message! I will delete it.
You should put it in the spam folder or it could impact your star seller status.
You might want to start coming to the forums daily to see what is going on with Etsy. Here is where you will find out about any new tests going on, any little glitches Etsy has, and what scams are out there. If more people knew about the forums and visit it they will know about the scams and know to delete them instead of replying to them. A lot of sellers have lost money because of these scams, the scams we have been discussing for about 7 months now.
If you go to the forum search page and put in scams you will find so many threads on this, I bet about 6 or 7 a day.
I've just received the same message. I thought it was probably a scam so came on here to check. Thanks for sharing!
The 1st clue this is a scam is that first sentence "Hello, this is your Etsy Staff employee speaking with you".
Etsy would never say this and if you did get an email from Etsy in the FROM ETSY section, it would address you by name.
2nd clue is Etsy would never ever send you a message to verify anything about your shop.
If anything needs verifying, you'll see a notice on your dashboard/finance page.
Your shop is not suspended. If you go to your shop you'll see it's open.
If suspended, you'd see a yellow banner stating this.
