I received a message and what appears as a notification stating the following:
Your shop is open
Your store is not suspended. Scam message.
Your shop is open. That is a scammer. Put that in your spam folder and do NOT give them any info.
Sounds like a scam. Never click on links in an email. If you need to change/update any settings, log in to your seller dashboard.
Etsy messages will come in your Etsy message folder (I don't know if that is viewable via the seller app..use the buyer app or a browser on a device) The easiest check it to look at your shop. IF it does not have an Etsy "This shop is catching up on orders /no longer seller" banner..it is a scam message. If you are open..all is well.
You seem to be a fairly new shop..you will be besieged by scammers. Read the scam threads in the forums to know what to avoid/typical scams..
This is a scam. Send the message to spam. Thieves are pretending to be Etsy staff. This scam has been ongoing since at least July 2023. Messages from Etsy will show up in your mailbox titled "From Etsy".
Real Etsy staff will never ask for your email address because they already have it. Also, any actual orders will show up on your dashboard. If the sale is not displayed on your dashboard, you don't have a sale.
Don’t respond or provide any personal or financial information. Don't click any links that take you off the Etsy site.
If you have provided any financial information, immediately contact your bank to report fraud on your account!
Make it part of your daily routine to visit the forums. You can learn about ongoing concerns, problems, glitches, and scams. Stay informed!
