Sales suspended

Hello everyone,

I just received an email from Etsy saying my sales are temporarily suspended while they check if I'm a bot or not (apparently because there's a new paiement mode). They asked for my credit info, then how much is on my card? It seems so sketchy, I stressed out and did it anyway. It loaded for more than 10 minutes so I decided to switch on my computer, and now the survey is not available and I don't know if my sales are still suspended...

Can you please help?

It sounds like you were SCAMMED.

Call your credit card IMMEDIATELY and freeze it before the scammers take your money!

SCAM. Prior to receiving the email, had you received a message asking for your email? That's part of the scam. It was a FAKE email pretending to be from etsy.

All real messages from etsy will be in the "from etsy" section of your inbox (you have to check on a computer or through the browser—not on the app. When etsy needs an ID or financial information, it will ALWAYS be on your dashboard. Sensitive info will never be through messaging or email.

Your shop is still open. You could have checked that yourself before responding to such questions. 

So many scammers out there, I am sorry you gave your info out. Hope you canceled your card and anything else you gave them. 

I had a scammer call me yesterday about my business credit card. They even showed the bank number on the caller ID. When I was hesitant he said "well, you see out number on the called ID". I said goodbye, hung up and called my local branch. Luckily I refused any information but they confirmed it must have been a scammer. Scary times.

Think about it.........Why would Etsy need to know how much money is on your credit card?
That makes NO sense.
You don't need money on a credit card or in your bank to get paid on Etsy.

The buyer is the one that has to have the money.

A quick check would show your shop is NOT suspended.  It's open.

CALL your bank/CC ASAP before those crooks steal more money.

You also need to change your email on Etsy because now those scammers have it and you'll probably get a LOT of scam emails now.

Same here just had this today as well it seem fishy when it ask for my account balance and waid it should be more than 300€ thus I think its a spam. I deleted the email.

@MyWolds: As an aside, you may want to complete your shop (i.e. About section, policies, etc). Scammers seem to like incomplete shops.

@MyWolds  mark scam messages as Spam next time and do not answer them and do not click on any links and do not scan QR Codes. The scammer targeting new seller on Etsy a lot

Please check the prices and shipping prices in your shop.

I just put a t-shirt from your shop in my cart - and the price of it was 3 Euro inclusiv VAT and shipping...

YIKES--yes, I put a T-shirt in and it shows 1.77 for the shirt and .47 cents to ship. I can't believe you are selling that cheap! You must have entered something wrong.

I know I have a key on my keyboard that always sticks. Maybe that happened when you entered your prices?

Nothing to do with your keyboard and seems they are not in a hurry to fix those prices.
