Has anyone else had this happen? I just uninstalled/reinstalled the app to see if that fixes it.
I tried the uninstall/reinstall route and that did not fix the missing "cha-ching", my workaround was to use the Zedge app, I downloaded an Etsy cha-ching from there and set it as the sound for "sold items" via the Etsy seller app notifications.
currently checking if i might have sales I have missed
@DebbieCrochets: "Has anyone else had this happen?" This forum is full of reports of issues with app and eMail notifications, including the cha ching. There are several possible solutions posted for the cha ching depending on the operating system of your mobile device. The consensus is that a seller needs to check their shop for messages and orders at least daily via a browser until these issues are resolved.
I certainly doubt it will ever be fixed,I'm still waiting after more than a year and a half
The etsy app has a lot of problems. I wish they could hire someone to make it operate smoothly again. It seems it gets more complicated everytime they change something. It is a chore to make a listing anymore with the app. I think most of us like the ease of doing things on the go with the app, but Etsy's app lacks a lot to be desired in my opinion. Right now the cha ching quit working months ago and I've tried many fixes to no avail. Their solution is check once a day on your shop. Face it, some of us may be running lots of shops and ones like Etsy that one plink us a sale once in awhile just get lost.
I have had this happen but it rectified itself, I would just recommend checking your app daily to ensure you don’t miss anything, technology has its glitches

The first thing is to make sure you have deleted the old "Sell on Etsy" app, as that can interfere with the newer (blue icon) Etsy Seller app. I recently got a new phone, and while the shop transferred all my apps - I still needed to delete and re-load many of them. Apps need updating - it's not just Etsy. Go to your settings, follow through back to the Google Play store and see if there is an update. Sometimes you need to power off your phone to have changes work. Sometimes just toggling the notification buttons off/on works for me. One time, I had the sound turned off in my volume settings - I hadn't realized at the time that there are different volume levels for ring-tone, media, and notifications.
If you have your app set to get sound notifications for Convos as well as sales, you can always test it by asking someone to send you a message through your Etsy shop. If you hear the tone for a message, you will hear the Cha-ching for the next sale.
I customized my app sounds in the app settings on my phone. The default notification sounds were not working for me, so I downloaded a cha-ching notification sound from zedge and use that, and I have no problems. I have notification sounds turned off for all other notifications in the app, though. Those just appear across the top of my phone without sound.
It’ll happen to me randomly.
Although it is smart to check your Dashboard everyday (Etsy likes daily interactions in a shop)…
I’ve had success going into the notifications in the app, switching everything off, then back on, then a hard restart of your device (in my case, my phone).
That normally does the trick.
Ive tried all the suggestions, uninstall, restart, and waving it in the air. These work about half the time.
Oh well.
