Hello, my husband and I have Photoshop and create digital designs for instant downloads. Customers receive a SVG, PNG, and JPEG file of every one of our designs when purchased. Recently a customer reached out and said she can't get the SVGs to come up on her Cricut. The error message she receives is, "non-embedded image elements error". She claims she has been able to download and use other SVG files before. We don't own a Cricut so I'm not really sure how I can assist her. On the Cricut help website, I'm seeing that, "svg or . dxf files cannot contain pattern fills when exported for Cricut Design Space image upload". One of the SVG designs she's trying to download is a graphic design with a gradient. Why would a Cricut not be able to use that? I told her based on some of my research you should be able to use print then cut on a Cricut and her response was, "I don’t think the print to cut would work because I want to use it as a sticker and that only prints on paper." Could she just use the PNG of our design? Several others have purchased the design without issues, however I don't know if those customers are using a Cricut or not. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm not understanding how to navigate that error with Cricut. Thank you in advance!
You should be able to download Cricut Design Space without owning a Cricut.
You can then test out uploading your files to see if they work or if you get the same error as your customer.
Unfortunately Design Space is very glitchy.
Okay, thank you! I had no idea. I have friends who own a Cricut and it seem like it's not the easiest thing to navigate and use. There are a ton of other customers who purchase our designs without issues but this one threw me for a loop since I don't own one I didn't know how I could assist. Appreciate your quick response!
