I have recently lost the 'Speedy Replies' badge in my second Etsy shop because Etsy stats say that I failed to reply to a message within 24 hours. I have now spoken with Etsy support who have confirmed that the stats were wrong and that I did reply within 24 hours, whilst on holiday abroad. It makes me wonder what else is wrong with Etsy stats. I know I will never attain Star Seller status because I don't provide tracking for every piece I sell, however, if I earned a 'Speedy Replies' badge, then I want it to be shown in my shop. I appreciate that this subject has been covered before, but I couldn't find a recent thread on it.
Hmmm…very interesting that their stats were wrong. Makes me wonder just how stats are gathered and definitely just how accurate they are?
Indeed.
@BoudoirPrive Did Etsy Support say they would refer that on to be fixed?
I had a couple orders earlier this year that showed "no tracking" when there was tracking, and Etsy fixed those.
The Etsy Admin just told me to report it on this technical thread.
Is this chat that you talked to? They are limited in what they can do and in what they can say. Is the person correct in saying that the stats were wrong? It is quite possible since you answered from abroad that there was a downturn in delivery to recent issues with outages from several sources. It is quite possible your answer was delayed which unfortunately does mean that delivery didn't happen on the buyers end until after the time frame had passed.
I was in Corsica, which is 1 hour ahead of the UK.
@BoudoirPrive Hmm - not sure why they referred you to the Forum, we are all just sellers here, we can't make any updates. If it were me, I would contact them again and ask them when they will fix the error in your messaging statistics. If they refer you back to the Forum, ask for a supervisor, etc.
@BoudoirPrive: Out of curiosity, what does the applicable CSV file available on your Star Seller page show? Have you made sure that the Message you are referring to is the same one that Etsy thinks was not answered with 24 hours? There is a link to the actual message thread so you can verify if the data is correct or not.
"The Etsy Admin just told me to report it on this technical thread." While Etsy can, and has, made changes to the underlying data so that the stats auto update, it is clear that Etsy support has neither the authority or ability to manually change the stats. So I suspect that as soon as they hear 'Star Seller' the majority stop listening and refer you to the forum as they are instructed to do.
The CSV file tells me who sent the message, what date, what time and the fact that I allegedly did not respond (incorrect.) The message sender is my best client and I always respond in a timely manner to her, even whilst abroad on holiday. I've also got auto respond set up for any messages which come through whilst I may be asleep, as I am based in the UK and cannot reply to messages from the US during the night. The Star Seller info also states that:-
These messages won’t be counted:
I tend to agree with your second paragraph.
