Hi everyone,
Two months ago, two of our top-selling items were deactivated because they supposedly didn’t meet Etsy's creativity standards. We’ve read the rules carefully and know them by heart. Despite reaching out to Etsy support multiple times, we didn’t receive any real help.
We accepted the loss, moved on, and kept selling, even though we lost our Star Seller badge and our shop visits dropped by over 30%.
But yesterday, it happened again. Another top seller was deactivated—this time without even an email from Etsy.
We used to love Etsy as our favorite marketplace, but now it feels like a nightmare. If this keeps happening, we might stop selling here, assuming we don’t get suspended first.
Has anyone faced this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Unfortunately, your shop looks like your items are curated not handmade by YOU. You only appear to have managers, no busy bee makers in your shop personal. Etsy is lowering the boom on reselling............
Your items claim to be handmade BY YOU and your own hands - thus the "handmade" label - but you don't have proof that you are making them yourself.
I reverse image searched "your" Premium XL Scandanavian Pouf", and there are 38 identical matches across the internet from multiple other wholesale sites and marketers like Wayfair.
THIS is why your items are being removed.
Yeah, what the first reply said. The products are great but in order to be on Etsy you need to make them or design them yourselves. If you design them and outsource the manufacture you have to declare your production partners. You also really need to make sure they have an original design that cant be confused with a mass produced product - Etsy is increasingly driving towards unique designs and the number of shops on Etsy is down by over 800,000 this year a it starts to enforce its rules more rigorously
Your shop looks like you are a reseller and Etsy is catching up!
Your shop's About section mentions "our cooperative in Marrakech" and states that "our goal is to help the artisans ensure the survival of their cooperatives, and secure their livelihoods by accessing new markets all over the world..." You cannot sell items that other people have made by hand (unless the items are vintage or are craft supplies). If you are selling new home decor, the items must be handmade and/or designed by you.
Have you found your listings on other sites? If so you need to issue notices to those sites to take down your photos.
I'm not sure what happens if the style shown is known style crafted by anyone. That can be tricky.
Are there more employees in your shop? Quite a bit for only three people to do. Your listings mention artisans are making the items. All those artisans need to be listed in your about page.
