I got a message and the customer wanted to cancel. I canceled it and somehow it’s not showing I answered her within 24 hours. Now I won’t get my Star Seller. Is there a way to correct this? I canceled her order immediately.
You must reply to her message not just refund and cancel.
All new messages have to be replied to, even if they do not require a answer.
You can try sticking the message in spam, but if the message came via order help request I do not believe you can spam them.
Any message in the refund screen is not a reply to the message under messages.
You have to reply to the message under messages, regardless of whether you include a message on the refund screen.
@DizzyMadeQuilts: "... the customer wanted to cancel" Was the customer's Message a Help Request? A "message" you write on a refund form does not count as a reply. The "message" in a cancellation form is appended to the default message thread you have with that (buyer) account but not sure if it counts as a reply to a new thread. It does not append / reply to the Help Request.
I am sorry to hear that happened, it seems unfair but it is how Etsy deals with it. I will keep my fingers crossed that you receive 19 messages quickly. If I remember correctly that is the number needed to make up for a missed response.
That's a tricky one, isn't it? Also the same with sending a return label, AND creating a custom listing, even though Etsy sends another email to the Buyer letting them know.
If you spam her message it blocks her from ever contacting you again. Which if it is a customer or potential customer is bad. If they accidentally bought their cart it means your item was in there..they may buy. I'd take the hit and live and learn.
