Re: Refund issue

If there are not enough funds available in your Etsy account, they will take it from you card on file. Any funds paid to Etsy will be returned to you once you cancel the sale.

Re: Refund issue

Etsy refunds the full amount the customer paid, to the customer

and take it from you

Etsy looks at "available to deposit" and takes what they can from there

If there is not enough there, they take the remainder from your billing card on file, if that is your debit card, your debit card provider takes it from your bank.

Etsy then refund all the fees to your Etsy payment account

you do get it all back.

If you cancel, rather than just refunding, you also get the 20p listing fee back

Re: Refund issue

Duplicate post/thread, you started another thread on the same issue:

https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Cancelled-order-taken-from-bank/m-p/146714686#M881675

It is best to stick with one thread and all the help and info stays in the same one, rather than being split between two and can get confusing.

Re: Refund issue

The customer has to get their refund somehow therefore, Etsy looks at your deposit balance first and if there is an insufficient amount there then they will take it from your credit card that you have on file.  Whenever you cancel or perform a partial refund, the customer must get it from somewhere, and the transaction happens immediately from the sellers end.
