Redact SSN EVERYWHERE

I hire an employee to manage my Etsy account, I don't want my employee to know SSN. It's seemly redacted in "legal and tax information" section, but once you click "edit" button, it shows full ID. Could you always keep it redacted EVERWHERE? For instance, bank account number is always redacted. SSN should be protected in the same way.

You should not have anyone accessing your account, they can change anything they want in the account once they have access.

Etsy is not set up for what you want and is not meant to share your info with your employees-- you do that at your own risk.  

You have no sales. I would say if you can't manage your etsy shop on your own-- then maybe selling on Etsy is not the right place for you to sell.

Regardless of sales or who is managing an account, basic Security administration by the IT department should have the SSN encrypted everywhere. This is standard operating procedure for any company.  Good find and hopefully a moderator will enter a ticket to IT and pass this along.

Not if the seller is the one with that access... Etsy was never set up to have sellers be companies with lots of employees.. If a seller gets that big that they need employees then IMO they need a web site who would have that encryption.

You can put in your own suggestions.. Etsy has a suggestion box of sorts in the help section

You are the owner of the account, only you have access to see everything.

If you give your password to anyone else, they can change it, and block you out, and use your account to scam others.

If you don't trust them with your SSN, don't give them your password and access to your account.

There have been plenty of situations where I would like someone to do something that requires my Etsy account.

Unfortunately, because that gives them access to EVERYTHING including my banking information, I haven't done that. And I trust the people that I've had help me but it's just too easy to peruse, make an mistake, whatever. So only I and my trusted Chief Packager and Shipper (who also happens to be my husband) have access. Etsy simply isn't set up for businesses with employees. And although I get where you're coming from, it is for small businesses. As there seem to be more and more resellers and POD shops ... maybe the single login is helping to keep Etsy for small businesses.

I've had my helpers take photos, edit photos, clean beads ... sweep the studio floor ... just not log into Etsy.
