There is no new etsy payment system, so probably a scam.
There is no new payment system. Mark as spam.
They keep mutating every day! It's hard to keep up with the scams! Please check here in the forum if in doubt!
SCAM!!!! Do not reply at all. They want to get your financial information.
Etsy direct messages always have the orange "E" stamp on the outside of the sender's photo icon. Scammers usually just use the easily copied Etsy logo as their icon. There's no way for anyone to add the orange "E" stamp on the outside of a sender's photo icon except for Etsy. That's how you can immediately tell the difference between real Etsy messages and scam messages.
@RivGardens: It is probably a SCAM - you might want to read the post by @bradgoodell in https://community.etsy.com/t5/Managing-Your-Shop/How-to-Spot-a-Scam-No-a-Buyer-Doesn-t-Need-Your-Ema... and https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Why-do-they-ask-me-for-my-e-mail-in-order-to-make-a-p...

Thank you so much, friends, for your help!
If Etsy needs you to revalidate anything, Etsy will put the announcement on your shop dashboard.
There is no new payment system, so this is likely a scam. There are currently scammers who hack legit shops and use their messaging systems to send out faked Etsy emails, pretending to be from Etsy. Always be cautious.
i received the same message, only after someone ask for my email, i thought hes a buyer. and then email comes that lead to this [This content has been removed by Moderation. Please do not share unsafe links in the Forums.]
seems like a scam. be careful
@DigieFaves Hi, You latched onto an older Thread, but the scammer situation is still relevant, affecting so many new Sellers, and I'm sorry about that. They idiots often appear within seconds after someone lists an item/s. I have been seeing an increase of new Sellers coming to the Forum lately; some are being bombarded with Messages from scammers. You don't expect to start fresh on a site, and immediately get hit with this garbage. And as a new Seller, I can see where you could be caught by it; it could happen to anyone.
Many scammers are posing as "Buyers", stating they need your email for an Order. They don't, Etsy already has it. They are trying to get you to input your banking info, so they can steal from you. When you receive a LEGIT Order, it will appear in "Orders & Shipping" (Left Column of Shop Dashboard); it will also show in your Payment Account. if it isn't there, you have no Order. Mark the scammer's Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller). And never click on links or engage with them.
"Verification" is a popular scam, as well as posing as Etsy Staff/Support, etc. Scanning of QR Codes is another. When you receive a LEGIT Message from Etsy Support/Staff, etc., it will appear in the "From Etsy" Folder (in Messages). If it isn't there, Mark the Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller).
