REMOVING PROCESSING TIMES FROM SHIPPING PROFILES - NIGHTMARE - MISSING SOMETHING???

Etsy has removed the processing time from the shipping profiles and to be blunt - this is HORRIFIC. I cannot express how bad of an idea this is... I have over 700 AD's - that all fit into specific shipping profiles with specific processing times within those profiles. I often have to change my processing times due to volume of orders - especially during prom.

So with this new "feature" I will be required to go into EACH INDIVIDUAL AD to edit the processing time??????

So this can not longer be done in bulk???

Or am I missing something???

This will be an absolute NIGHTMARE.

I only know because I was in the edit window.  How many shops are operating with 1-2 day processing when they think they have more time?

Thanks for the heads up. Checked mine. Except for the fact that long gone custom listings were included in their list of processing times, all my current active items still have the 1-5 day processing. I put that on everything even thought most go out within 2 days, this gives me leeway for holidays or just plain life. Hope those who need to make changes find a way to do so without too much headache. Best wishes to all.

This feels like another push from Etsy to get sellers to speed up how fast buyers get their items, by encouraging shops to have different processing times for 'ready to ship' and 'made to order' in particular. Wonder how long it is before 'ready to ship' becomes a factor in listing rankings...

I applaud any change that clarifies to the buyer when they're gonna get their item. Nobody reads anymore, but maybe let us sellers know in advance? Why roll this out before a holiday weekend?!

I'm also curious as to what happens to the processing times if someone orders 2 items with different processing times; do both items suddenly get the shorter processing time?

….and that's saying something considering the other fine messes they’ve gotten us into. It’s just ridiculous. What a colossal waste of time and resources. And what’s worse, it doesn’t even make sense or work properly…it’s completely half-baked. I mean, they’re including sold out and inactive listings and the bulk edit button is grayed out. Do better, Etsy.

TBH, it feels like Etsy is just gradually taking more and more control over our shop, forcing us to run it their way, one change at a time. SMH is right.

I already used my shipping profiles for this. I had ready to ship / made to order / backorder / etc. SO basically I have to redo everything.

Same for me. Now it appears that Etsy has messed it all up completely because now my custom paintings that take weeks to do are in with prints that are made to order and ship within 3-4 days. If I had not seen this post, I would have got a custom order that was supposed to ship in 3 days???

I have no idea how to fix this mess. All those old custom listings that were posted for a single customer and are sold out now need processing times. This is insane.

This is what I used my shipping profiles for also.  It was so easy.  Now its going to be more complicated and just another step to have to remember.

This is going to take so much time to go through all my listings and make sure all of the profiles are correct. Surely just incorporating the processing time within the shipping profile was easier/more streamlined?! Why do we need two profiles when they were combined in one?

Having hundreds of sold out, inactive listings showing up in profiles I haven't used for years is just so messy! The saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes to mind!

Because they probably just used AI. I got like 8 different profiles but most of them are the same 1-2 days, I need to able to delete them!

Thank You for this Thread; it prompted me to check mine, although I have no clue what just happened:). My Processing Time for all listings is 1-3 days. However, I see that it was only assigned to 4 items (those which were Expired). The other 18 items were Sold Out, and for some reason (must have been my error), they did not have this Processing Profile attached to them. Those listings have been live all last year without a Processing Profile attached to them. So I just did it, thru the Listings Manager.

This seems far more convoluted than it has to be. And I can't imagined what people do when they have a large number of listings, different Processing Profiles (as well as Shipping Profiles). 
Thank You again, for this Thread; it prompted me to look at mine. Would it have been so difficult for Etsy to put an Announcement in our Shop Dashboard? Because obviously, the Processing Profile thingy is new. Instead of people stumbling upon it accidentally. And if nothing has changed on that end, some Sellers (like myself), would have no reason to think they need to go into their Shipping Profiles for Processing Profiles. We wouldn't know about this change.

Etsy is going to wait until Friday afternoon before Memorial Day Weekend to announce it.

That way everyone in the US will have their weekend ruined as they try to fix things before the Tuesday launch.  

That is only partial sarcasm, BTW.

Well they did send out emails about the Canada Post strike to all accounts, even though none of my shops, including the ones in vacation mode, actually ship to Canada. That must have eaten up all the time they had reserved for notifying Etsy sellers of massive changes.

Also, anyone find a way to change the shipping profile names?  Naming them by processing time alone doesn't work when I have different sections that occasionally vary in turnaround time.

I think the best you can do is add another shipping profile using the "duplicate" feature on shipping profiles page then go to listing manager, filter on the now incorrectly named profile and use bulk editor to switch the listing to the duplicated profile with the better name.

Right. Because redoing and updating thousands of pictures last year to the 2000 px size, and now removing all the AI generated completely irrelevant alt text from our images (for invitations. with made up weddings. with absolutely no relevance to the listing. And font charts listing every single font style on the chart as if THAT would relay anything relevant), while trying to redo all keywords and tags and titles so we might actually stay visible to get a trickle of orders instead of none is not enough work for us already.

I had 9 visits today, and only 4 orders since the weekend. Why I'm sending out emails looking for a new job.

But well done Etsy, fixing what is not broken!
