Etsy has removed the processing time from the shipping profiles and to be blunt - this is HORRIFIC. I cannot express how bad of an idea this is... I have over 700 AD's - that all fit into specific shipping profiles with specific processing times within those profiles. I often have to change my processing times due to volume of orders - especially during prom.
So with this new "feature" I will be required to go into EACH INDIVIDUAL AD to edit the processing time??????
So this can not longer be done in bulk???
Or am I missing something???
This will be an absolute NIGHTMARE.
Jenny
This is the strangest new "feature" ever ... and clear as mud is about right! Every processing time I've ever used in my 15+ years on Etsy is populated across 5 pages of processing profiles ... some profiles have 900+ listings in them (many of which have expired 10+ years ago)? I can't delete them, I can't alter them ... I am so confused.
EXACTLY!!! Why cannot we not delete them??? Most of the profiles - on later pages are for SOLD items. Sold items should not even be on there.
yep ... strange ... but could edit all of mine and did ... now I have 2 processing profiles. I really didn't want or need dozens of profiles that went back 13 years for sold out and expired and draft listings.
@theCopperPoppy I got the same thing - items I sold years ago and they wanted me to attach a shipping profile!
This is nuts... This should have been a beta - worked out bugs and then rolled it out OR left it alone!!!!
Yep, same here. Hundreds of items I no longer sell! If I could add a rolling eyes emoji, it would be HERE!
I hate this update. Also if you're not aware, the new processing times don't come in to effect until the 27th May.......so we cannot change our processing times at all until the 27th. Which is a nightmare for UK sellers because we have a public holiday on the 26th and school holidays, so many sellers need to update their processing times right now
Wow.
The 26th is also a holiday in the US. For most people it's the unofficial start of summer and when people go camping for the first time of the year (so they won't be near a computer and it's an absolutely horrible time to implement a change like this).
@millyandpip Ah.. Thank you for that. I am trying to temporarily extend my shipping times instead of putting my shop in holiday mode and it's still saying 1-3 days instead of two weeks! I have started a new thread before I saw this. What sense does it make to not be able to change processing times for another 5 days??!!
I changed mine. You can bulk edit page by page.
I figured that out but I have many different types of items I sell - often with similar words in common... so I will have to do a search and pick and choose. SO STUPID
Have you figured out how to move items from one shipping profile to another?
Or do we have to do them one item at a time?
Brad -
According to the link someone posted - you can do it in bulk but be sure you click the right listings! Here are the steps:
Just tried this but the "Change processing profile" option is greyed out if I try to do more than a handful of listings at once. This is total chaos.
Even if you manage to change the shipping profiles, the customers see the old shipping time
This seems like another unnecessary use of AI. I was perfectly fine with my shipping profiles, I cannot rearrange this nonsense! ETSY HELP!
100% AGREE!!!!
It is just like updates with cell phones anymore... "fixing" what was not broken... THINKING it will be more "convenient" when ultimately never is...
YES, HELP ETSY!
I guess it could be useful for some sellers, but I saw nothing about this in my dashboard. Why do they roll out stuff like this? They only reason I found out is because I'm trying to fix something else related to my shipping address not showing up correctly. Why is everything so wonky these days?!?!?!
I only noticed this when I saw a thread in the forum and though "What are you talking about?"
Nice way to spring it on people.
I saw ZIP about it too! I noticed when I created a new listing this morning. It was NOT there yesterday!
And to spring it onto sellers a week before it's set to rollout! Classic Etsy!!
I only know because I was in the edit window. How many shops are operating with 1-2 day processing when they think they have more time?
Thanks for the heads up. Checked mine. Except for the fact that long gone custom listings were included in their list of processing times, all my current active items still have the 1-5 day processing. I put that on everything even thought most go out within 2 days, this gives me leeway for holidays or just plain life. Hope those who need to make changes find a way to do so without too much headache. Best wishes to all.
This feels like another push from Etsy to get sellers to speed up how fast buyers get their items, by encouraging shops to have different processing times for 'ready to ship' and 'made to order' in particular. Wonder how long it is before 'ready to ship' becomes a factor in listing rankings...
